Lil Wayne’s Endorsement Of Trump Wasn’t To Get Pardoned – Lawyer! Now that Lil Wayne is off the hook following the recent pardon from former President Trump, his lawyer has come out to clarify that Lil Wayne’s Endorsement Of Trump Wasn’t to Get Pardoned. Attorney Bradford Cohen, in an interview with The New York Times, said Lil Wayne’s support for the former president was not to avoid going to prison for his pending firearms charges. “I think they had a very strong connection,” Cohen said during the interview on Wednesday (Jan. 20). “(Trump’s) in the entertainment world. He’s got a style that’s similar in terms of the way that he carries himself and a lot of rappers and people in the industry relate to that.”
Cohen however believes Weezy’s support for Donald Trump played a role in the president’s decision. “It never hurts that someone gets a full understanding of an individual when they’re just looking at a piece of paper,” he said. “In hindsight, I guess it worked out.”
The artist surprised his fans when he announced his support for Donald Trump one week to the November 2020 election. The move raised eyebrows with a lot of people criticizing the rapper. His critics claimed the rapper had never stood for Trump in the past neither had he gone public about his political affiliations before. His sudden endorsement of Donald Trump a few days to the November polls became questionable.

Wayne had pleaded guilty On December 11 2020 to one count of possessing a firearm and ammunition as a felon. Court documents revealed that officers found the rapper with a handgun at Opa Locka Executive Airport on December 23, 2019, where Lil Wayne, whose official name is Dwayne Michael Carter, had just arrived on a private flight from California.
After securing a search warrant, officers searched a bag containing Carter’s personal documents and came across a gold-plated Remington 1911, .45-caliber handgun loaded with six rounds of ammunition. The bag also contained amounts of cocaine for his personal use, ecstasy, and oxycodone. Lil Wayne’s sentencing hearing was slated for January 28, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., before U.S. District Judge Kathleen M. Williams where the rapper would have faced up to 10 years in federal prison.
