A$AP Rocky Previews New Single “Helicopter” Ahead of Don’t Be Dumb Album

A$AP Rocky is gearing up to release his new album Don’t Be Dumb in just under a week, and fans will get another taste of its sound with his latest single. Rocky announced on Instagram and other social media that “Helicopter” will drop on Monday, January 12.

Following the excitement around his previous Don’t Be Dumb single “Punk Rocky,” fans are eager for another preview track. The cover art and a snippet shared online suggest that “Helicopter” will continue the trap-flavored energy Rocky has been building. In his teaser caption, he wrote: “DUMBEST VIDEO OF THE F***IN YEAR!!! PLAY DUMB GAMES, WIN DUMB PRIZES!!! HELICOPTER THIS MONDAY!” He previously gave similar praise to the “Punk Rocky” music video, which fans responded to positively.

The teaser clip for “Helicopter” features extensive helicopter footage with a VHS aesthetic, showing Rocky’s use of a helicopter during a recent Rolling Loud set. The muffled audio in the preview hints at another energetic, genre-blending track. There is also speculation among fans that Playboi Carti might appear on the track, though this has yet to be confirmed.

A$AP Rocky’s long-awaited album Don’t Be Dumb is set to drop Friday, January 16. It marks his first full project since 2018’s TESTING and has already experienced multiple delays and teases. The rollout has included distinct singles with unique visuals, suggesting the album will showcase a wide range of styles and creative directions.

The “Helicopter” music video is directed by Dan Streit, differentiating it from the team behind “Punk Rocky.” With two singles out before the album release, fans can expect a dynamic project that fuses Rocky’s signature trap energy with new experimental elements. The full single and video will arrive Monday, setting the stage for the complete album release later this week.
