A$AP Rocky’s New Single “Punk Rocky” Hits 1.6 Million Spotify Streams on First Day

A$AP Rocky has made a strong return with his latest single, “Punk Rocky,” which racked up 1.6 million streams on Spotify during its first day of tracking, according to Kurrco. The release sets the stage for his highly anticipated fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb, scheduled for release on January 16. The album has already seen over 500,000 pre-saves on Spotify, showing high fan anticipation.

Rocky released “Punk Rocky” alongside a music video featuring Winona Ryder, Danny Elfman, Thundercat, and A$AP Nast. On the track, he explores themes of love and vulnerability, singing in the chorus, “I wanna fall in love, don’t want no broken heart / Don’t wanna grow apart.” The video complements the song’s introspective tone with cinematic visuals.

Several singles have already dropped in anticipation of Don’t Be Dumb, including “Highjack,” “Tailor Swif,” “Ruby Rosary,” and “Pray4DaGang,” in addition to “Punk Rocky.” Rocky has not yet confirmed the full tracklist, leaving fans guessing which songs will appear on the final album. The cover artwork, designed by filmmaker Tim Burton, adds to the project’s distinctive aesthetic.

Rocky has also partnered with Bilt to release an exclusive vinyl edition of Don’t Be Dumb. The 2LP, 15-track vinyl spans multiple genres, including jazz, hip-hop, metal, indie, and R&B. According to Bilt, each track captures a distinct mood or moment, showcasing Rocky’s versatility across musical styles.

In a unique community initiative, Rocky collaborated with Bilt to cover January’s rent for every tenant in the Harlem apartment building where he grew up. In a press release, he said, “For me, it’s always been about your community and neighborhood. Harlem made me who I am, from uptown to downtown, and that connection to place is everything. When Bilt said they wanted to cover rent for everyone in the same building where I grew up, that hit different. That’s not just business, that’s understanding what community really means.”

Fans now have a full month to prepare for Don’t Be Dumb, while “Punk Rocky” provides an early glimpse of Rocky’s evolving sound and personal storytelling.
