A$AP Rocky is breathing new life into his long-delayed project DON’T BE DUMB. The New York rapper teased a series of new snippets in his latest Puma collaboration ad, offering fans a fresh glimpse at the album’s evolving sound.
The nearly two-and-a-half-minute clip, highlighted by Kurrco, showcases a variety of styles. Rocky experiments with thumping trap beats, possibly produced by Pharrell Williams, alongside gospel-inspired background vocals. The preview confirms that Rocky continues to push creative boundaries, even if fan excitement has waned after repeated delays.
Despite the anticipation, there is still no official release date. Rocky previously told Spike Lee for GQ that he plans to drop the album spontaneously. “I’ma just drop it, how about that? I’ma just drop it. I don’t want to say another date and disappoint people. Things happen, things pop up. I just want to make the perfect album and just drop it,” he said. He added that the project represents his best work to date.
Rocky also cited personal factors contributing to the extended rollout. His family life and a previous legal issue with A$AP Relli affected the timeline. “I don’t want to primarily blame it on my case, but life was lifeing. We don’t plan on having children, but when it happens, you gotta adjust and move with it. I gotta be present for my family, because that’s first.”
Rocky and Rihanna welcomed their third child, a daughter named Rocki Irish Mayers, on September 13. Rocky had shared his hopes for a girl, noting that this pregnancy felt different from their previous ones.
Fans can hear the new teasers, which also feature A$AP Bari, the streetwear designer and A$AP Mob member. While the release remains uncertain, the snippets signal that DON’T BE DUMB could offer a diverse, experimental sound that reflects Rocky’s growth as an artist and his current life experiences.
