Earl Sweatshirt Confirms Release Date For New Album Live Laugh Love

Earl Sweatshirt has officially confirmed that his fifth studio album, Live Laugh Love, will arrive on Friday, August 22. The rapper made the announcement on Instagram, posting a collage that included a photo of Chris Brown, a photo of himself, and a well-known LeBron James meme. In the caption, he wrote, “8/22 LLLz,” giving fans the long-awaited release date.
Earl didn’t share further details about the project, but the confirmation was enough to spark excitement. Fans quickly flooded the comments with jokes and anticipation. One wrote, “Who’s living loving and laughing am I right.” Another added, “Never lived laughed and loved so hard in my life.”
The announcement follows a wave of rumors over the weekend. Online reports suggested Earl hosted a private listening event where he previewed unreleased tracks from the project. Alleged contributors include Dave Chappelle, Navy Blue, Bktherula, The Alchemist, Vince Staples, Donald Glover, Liv.e, and even actor Steven Yeun. If accurate, the lineup would make Live Laugh Love one of Earl’s most collaborative projects to date.
This year has already seen Earl connect with fans through new music. In May, he teamed up with MAVI for the single Landgrab. The two previously worked together on El Toro Combo Meal from Earl’s 2019 EP, Feet of Clay.
Live Laugh Love also comes amid renewed attention on Earl following comments from JPEGMAFIA earlier this year. In a Billboard interview, JPEGMAFIA criticized both Earl and The Alchemist, claiming their sound has been repetitive for two decades. Earl has not responded publicly, leaving fans to speculate whether the new album will contain subtle responses.
The upcoming release marks Earl’s first full-length project since Sick! in 2022. With the confirmed release date, fans can expect more details, tracklists, and potential features to surface in the coming days.
