Drake Teases New Album ‘Iceman’ Amid Some Special Shows 4 U Tour

Drake is building anticipation for his next studio album, Iceman, while performing on his ongoing Some Special Shows 4 U tour. On Wednesday, the Toronto rapper posted a cryptic message on Instagram: “Still coming to terms and conditions with how i’m feeling. Soon as i know, you’ll hear it.” He accompanied the statement with multiple pictures and videos from his tour.
Drake first hinted at Iceman earlier this year following his collaborative album with PartyNextDoor. During a live stream on Kick with Adin Ross, he said, “Thank you to everybody that’s streaming the album. Every time, every journey. Working on a new album, it’s a slap,” as reported by Rolling Stone. He later shared photos on Instagram and confirmed the album’s title in the captions.
The lead single, “What Did I Miss?,” dropped on July 5. The track marks Drake’s first solo studio effort since his 2024 feud with Kendrick Lamar, and it includes references to the fallout. One line seemingly nods to LeBron James: “I saw bro went to Pop Out with them, but been d*ck riding gang since ‘Headlines.’”
He followed up with the second single, “Which One,” released on July 25. The song features Central Cee, and the two performed it live in Manchester shortly after its release.
Drake has not confirmed an official release date for Iceman, but hints suggest the album will arrive soon. It will be his first solo studio album since For All the Dogs in 2023.
In addition to album promotion, Drake has been in the news for legal action against Universal Music Group. His team filed multiple motions on Tuesday as part of the discovery phase in his defamation lawsuit. Drake claims UMG promoted Kendrick Lamar’s diss track, “Not Like Us,” which he argues caused harm to his reputation.
Fans can expect Iceman to combine personal reflections, competitive lyricism, and high-profile collaborations, continuing Drake’s streak of chart-topping releases.
