Lil Baby to Drop New Album ‘The Leak$’ Followed by Another Release in Four Weeks

Lil Baby has confirmed that his upcoming album The Leak$ will be followed by another full-length project just four weeks later. The Atlanta rapper revealed the plan during a livestream, explaining the creative process and why he adjusted his release schedule.
The Leak$ will feature songs that had already surfaced online without his approval. “I took a couple songs that already got leaked and put a whole album around it. Most of the leaks aren’t real versions anyway,” Baby said. He added that the follow-up album will arrive only a month after The Leak$.
The change comes after Baby decided to cancel his previously announced album Dominique in favor of releasing The Leak$ first. On Instagram, he posted the release date for The Leak$ as Friday, 15 August, along with a photo of a whiteboard showing the title and tracklist. The board displayed 17 songs with apparent features from Playboi Carti, Skooly, and Veeze.
Baby has been vocal about his frustration with unauthorized leaks of his music. Earlier this year, he wrote online, “Damn yall just gone keep leaking my songs!!” The Leak$ is his way of taking control of that situation while still delivering fresh music to fans.
Speaking about Dominique, Baby described it as a more mature and strategic album. “Just more heartfelt and more direct with talking about certain subjects,” he said. “Dominique is more of a grown sound. Lil Baby is something I created, but I kind of grew out of that stage. WHAM is in the middle of Lil Baby and Dominique. So Dominique going to be like the more 30-year-old me.”
He admitted that moving straight from his Lil Baby persona to Dominique would have been too sudden for listeners. “Even though I’ve grown and had a dramatic change, I ain’t really bring the fans along with me. They don’t really know what I went through or what I’m going through,” he explained. By releasing The Leak$ first, he hopes to ease fans into the evolution of his sound and subject matter.
The back-to-back album rollout is set to keep Lil Baby’s momentum high through the second half of 2025, while also giving fans a preview of his new artistic direction before Dominique eventually arrives.
