Lil Baby Gears Up for Another Major Drop with The Leak$

Lil Baby is having a standout year. The Atlanta rapper kicked off 2025 with WHAM, the first hip-hop album to hit number one on the Billboard 200 this year. It moved 144,000 units in its opening week. He toured briefly with BigXthaPlug, Pluto, and Loe Shimmy before pressing pause.
The 16-track project marked his fourth straight chart-topping release. “Dum, Dumb, and Dumber” stood out, featuring Young Thug’s first verse since his release last October. Other notable tracks included “Stuff” with Travis Scott and “Outfit” featuring 21 Savage. Rylo Rodriguez and Rod Wave also made appearances.
After the success of WHAM, Lil Baby shifted focus. He teased a new album called Dominique, which he described as more personal. “Dominique is more the serious me, more personal. That’s a part of the new journey I’m on,” he said in an interview. “I know my fanbase really want to hear them certain songs.”
He hinted at a February release, writing on social media, “See yall Again in a couple weeks ‘Dominique’ The Album 2-?-25.”
But then came the delay.
Local authorities in Atlanta linked a music video shoot to a double homicide involving two teenagers. It’s unclear if Lil Baby or his team had any direct connection. No charges were filed, but the release of Dominique was pushed back.
Instead of picking up where Dominique left off, Baby pivoted. A new project, The Leak$, started making noise. A whiteboard with track titles and the album name was seen in a behind-the-scenes clip, picked up by hip-hop outlet Kurrco.
The features look stacked. Playboi Carti, Young Thug, Lucki, Veeze, and Skooly are all reportedly involved. Compared to WHAM, this lineup has even more star power.
Lil Baby confirmed the album’s release on Instagram, posting a carousel with the caption “8.15.25.” That puts the drop just around the corner.
In the meantime, he’s stayed visible. He appeared on Metro Boomin’s A FUTURISTIC SUMMA and alternative pop artist Jessie Murph’s Sex Hysteria.
All eyes are on August 15. If The Leak$ drops as planned, it could mark Lil Baby’s second chart-topping project of 2025.
