Young Thug Officially Launches ‘Uy Scuti’ Album Rollout with Cover Art, Merch, and Mysterious Website

Young Thug has officially set his sights on the stars with the launch of his highly-anticipated new album, Uy Scuti. The Atlanta rapper confirmed the title, which fans have been speculating about for weeks, and kicked off the rollout with the unveiling of the album’s cover art, exclusive merchandise, and a mysterious new website.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Thugger sparked excitement with a cryptic yet powerful message: “It’s time. Red Planet,” alongside a link to a dedicated Uy Scuti site. The website features an array of merch options tied to the album — including vinyl records, CDs, clothing items, and other collectibles, giving fans plenty to explore as the project’s release nears.

The album’s cover art has also been revealed, offering the first visual glimpse into Thugger’s cosmic concept for Uy Scuti — named after one of the largest known stars in the universe.

Hints about the album had been swirling for weeks. A fan recently spotted a billboard reading, “UNIVERSE HAS BEEN TOO QUIET. UNTIL NOW. UY SCUTI.” The poster also teased a May 2025 release, though the specific date remains unknown.

Speculation grew even stronger last month when Thug held up a custom basketball jersey emblazoned with “UY SCUTI #5” during the Miami Heat vs. Golden State Warriors game. That moment, now confirmed as a strategic part of the album’s rollout, marked his first major public teaser since his release from jail.

However, the road to Uy Scuti hasn’t been without controversy. In March, Young Thug engaged in a brief social media spat after a fan accused him of copying Playboi Carti’s album delay antics. “Yall mfers goin have to beg me to drop this shit nocizzy,” Thug wrote, prompting a fan to respond: “U NOT CARTI LIL BRA.”

Thugger didn’t hold back, clapping back with: “I wonder who’s couch you’re on tweeting this.” The reply went viral, earning over 100,000 likes and resulting in a surprisingly sincere apology from the fan, who later praised Thug as a “trailblazer” and “legend” in a heartfelt note.

With Uy Scuti, Young Thug appears to be embracing a cosmic, conceptual direction for his music, signaling a bold return to the spotlight. The Instagram account “@uyscuti” — which follows only Thugger and is followed back — further hints at a tightly curated theme behind the album.

As the countdown to May begins, all eyes are on Thugger and the Red Planet.
