Young Thug Questions Billboard’s Best Female Rappers List Over Mariah The Scientist’s Omission

Young Thug has voiced his frustration with Billboard’s recently released list of the greatest female rappers of all time, questioning why his girlfriend, Mariah The Scientist, was left out.
The ranking, which crowned Nicki Minaj as the top female rapper, has stirred debates online since its publication. Thugger joined the conversation on social media, responding to a post about the list on April 9. In a comment on Akademiks’ Instagram page, he wrote: “Where Mariah at tho [thinking face emoji].”
Billboard’s top 25 list included iconic figures such as Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott, Lil’ Kim, Queen Latifah, and Foxy Brown. It also featured more recent stars like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, Doechii, and Latto. However, Mariah The Scientist, known for her R&B and melodic rap influences, was not included.
Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist’s Relationship
Young Thug’s public defense of Mariah comes amid some turbulence in their relationship. A leaked jail phone call from December revealed the rapper admitting to talking to multiple women while incarcerated, saying: “I talk to at least 10 other girls when I get on the phone just to kill time.”
He also admitted that Mariah’s deep love for him sometimes scared him, as he feared doing something that could “devastate” her. After the call surfaced, Young Thug took to social media to apologize, writing on X (formerly Twitter):
“Sorry to my baby for all this bullshit on the internet. I love u baby and fuck em all we know what’s up with us!”
The couple has been together since at least 2021, with Mariah standing by Thug during his ongoing legal troubles following his 2022 RICO indictment. Despite the recent challenges, their bond appears to remain strong.
