Jonathan Majors Reveals His Top Five Favorite Rappers

Jonathan Majors, the embattled actor known for his roles in Creed III and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has shared his top five favorite rappers in a recent interview with AllHipHop. His choices include a mix of legendary and contemporary MCs, with a few unexpected picks.
When asked about his all-time favorite hip-hop artists, Majors named:
- Tupac Shakur (‘Pac)
- Nipsey Hussle
- Kendrick Lamar
- Nas
- Cam’ron
“I love him, bro,” Majors said about Cam’ron, surprising some fans with his choice. However, when asked to name his favorite song from the Dipset rapper, the actor gave a vague response: “I liked his last joint that I’m listening to now. That’s fire.”
In addition to his top five, Majors also gave honorable mentions to Jadakiss and Scarface, both widely respected figures in hip-hop.
Hip-Hop’s Influence on Majors’ Acting
This isn’t the first time Majors has spoken about his love for hip-hop. While preparing for his role as Damian Anderson in Creed III, he revealed that Nipsey Hussle’s music played a significant role in helping him get into character.
“All of Nipsey’s stuff was really helpful,” he shared in an interview with SlashFilm. “They’re from the same area, Dame and him, so that’s cool. There’s also dialect work, and so he’s rapping in his L.A. sound. The things he’s talking about are things that resonate with the world that Dame comes from, so that was very helpful.”
He also explained that he creates playlists for different moments in his acting process, using specific songs to help shape his performance.
Cam’ron’s Past Comments About Majors
Interestingly, Majors’ admiration for Cam’ron comes despite the rapper previously making controversial remarks about him. In 2023, Cam’ron questioned Majors and Creed III co-star Michael B. Jordan’s masculinity after seeing a promotional poster where the two actors posed closely together.
“The reason I didn’t go see Creed,” Cam’ron joked on Instagram, implying that the image looked too intimate.
His comment was widely criticized, including by rapper Skillz, who defended Majors and Jordan. “It’s already hard enough out here for Black men as it is, bro,” Skillz responded. “You can’t even show love or accept it without your own trying to make it out to be something else.”
Despite the past controversy, Majors remains a fan of Cam’ron’s music, showing that personal opinions and artistic appreciation don’t always align.
