Iggy Azalea Responds to Kanye West After He Mentions Her Son in Playboi Carti Rant

Iggy Azalea has responded to Kanye West after the rap mogul dragged her son into his ongoing dispute with Playboi Carti.

Kanye, who has claimed he was blocked from appearing on Carti’s latest album Music, erupted on social media after learning that Carti had requested a feature from his daughter, North West. Carti had tagged Kanye’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, on his Instagram Stories, writing: “Tell my niece North send me a song.”

This prompted Kanye to lash out on X (formerly Twitter), comparing the situation to asking Iggy Azalea if her son Onyx—whom she shares with Carti—could collaborate with him.

In response, Iggy addressed Kanye with a measured but firm statement, asking him to keep her child out of the conversation.

“Ye, I understand the point you want to make. I say this with kindness & as a mother: Please, leave my child out of this,” she wrote.

She continued, expressing frustration over how her son is frequently dragged into discussions regarding Carti, despite having no relationship with him.

“At the end of the day, Jordan [Playboi Carti] has other children (less famous… Does it matter?) but it seems only my son gets harassed in perpetuity about or on behalf of a man he has no relationship with. Does he read it? No. He’s a child. But it creates a digital legacy & an odd (shitty) situation for him to one day discover & endure in perpetuity from strangers online. Can I please have some peace? Can my son have some peace?”

Rather than backing down, Kanye escalated his response by making claims about rappers who have allegedly been romantically involved with Iggy.

“I INTENTIONALLY NEVER SMASHED IGGY BECAUSE OF CARTI,” he wrote. “OH AND ROCKY OH AND PUSHA OH AND TYGA OH AND FRENCH OH AND YOU GET THE PICTURE.”

He later attempted to clarify his remarks, though his wording suggested the opposite of what he may have intended.

“I WAS TRYING TO SLUT SHAME IGGY I WAS SAYING SHE ALWAYS FUCKED WITH SOMEONE I KNEW,” he wrote, before adding, “I LIKE WHEN GIRLS HAVE HIGH BODY COUNTS.”

Kanye’s latest social media tirade has sparked fresh controversy, as he also took aim at Kendrick Lamar following his recent critiques of Carti’s album. Referencing Kendrick’s viral hit “Not Like Us,” Ye declared: “I HAAAAAATED NOT LIKE US.” He then attempted to bait Lamar into a rap battle, writing: “KENDRICK PLEEEEASE COME DISS MEEEE ON BEHALF OF LUCIEN GRANGE PLEEEEEASE.”

As Kanye’s latest rants continue to make waves, Iggy Azalea’s response underscores the impact of his words beyond the rap world, particularly when children are unfairly brought into the fray. Whether Ye will acknowledge her plea remains to be seen, but for now, Iggy has made it clear that she wants her son left out of the drama.
