For hip-hop collectors and die-hard Tupac Shakur fans, a rare opportunity has surfaced—extremely rare unreleased lyrics and recordings from the legendary rapper have been put up for auction. The online auction house Moments In Time is offering a set of never-before-heard 2Pac songs and handwritten lyrics to the highest bidder.
Unreleased 2Pac Songs from Early 1990s
According to the auction listing, the materials originate from a 1990–1991 unreleased album that Tupac composed and recorded for a group called Jesse and the Kidz. The album was shelved after the tragic death of one of the band members, leaving these three songs and handwritten lyrics largely unknown to the public.
The package includes a cassette tape featuring three songs:
- “Leave Us Kidz Alone”
- “Streetz Got Ya Babies”
- “Bedtime Storiez”
There is no price listed on the official auction site, but TMZ reports that the collection is being sold for $250,000. However, the buyer will not receive the rights to reproduce or profit from the material—only the physical copies of the lyrics and recordings.
Latest Updates on 2Pac’s Murder Case
While the hip-hop world celebrates the discovery of this lost music, the mystery surrounding 2Pac’s 1996 murder continues to unfold. The case took another turn as Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the only man ever charged in connection with 2Pac’s killing, claimed his innocence in an interview with ABC News.
Keefe D, who was arrested in September 2023, dismissed the prosecution’s case, stating:
“I did not do it. They don’t have nothing. And they know they don’t have nothing. They can’t even place me out here. They don’t have no gun, no car, no Keefe D, no nothing.”
He further alleged that he was in Los Angeles on the night of 2Pac’s murder and that 20 to 30 people can testify to his whereabouts. Instead, Keefe D pointed the finger at Reggie Wright Jr., a former Compton police officer and head of security at Death Row Records, accusing him and his security team of orchestrating the killing.
In response, Wright Jr. denied any involvement, saying:
“It’s heartbreaking they keep dragging in my name. I didn’t have anything to do with that. One of the worst days of my life was when I heard that happened.”
Wright also reminded the public that Keefe D had previously confessed multiple times to the murder, both in interviews and in his 2019 book, Compton Street Legend. Keefe D, however, now claims that his statements were misrepresented, and that he only told police he was involved to avoid drug-related charges.
The Legacy of 2Pac Lives On
Decades after his untimely death, Tupac Shakur’s influence on hip-hop remains unmatched. His lyrics, storytelling, and activism continue to inspire generations, and the discovery of new recordings only adds to his already legendary status.
While the auction for the rare lyrics and recordings is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for collectors, the ongoing legal battles surrounding his murder show that 2Pac’s story is far from over. Whether through music, legal battles, or cultural influence, 2Pac’s presence remains as strong as ever.
