JID Confirms Long-Awaited Album ‘Forever & A Day’ Is Complete, Hints at Earl Sweatshirt Collab

JID has finally given fans the update they’ve been waiting for—his highly anticipated album Forever & A Day is officially finished and turned in. The Dreamville rapper made the revelation during a recent interview with i-D Mag at Paris Fashion Week, marking the most promising sign yet that new music is on the way.

“It’s done. It’s turned in—it’s been turned in,” JID confirmed. “It’s coming really f***ing soon. It’s been a long time in the making, and all the t’s are crossed and my i’s are dotted, so I think we in a good position to build this new world that I’ve been working on for the past couple of years.”

This news comes after a series of delays and unfulfilled promises that had fans growing impatient. The Atlanta rapper initially teased Forever & A Day back in 2023 as a follow-up to The Forever Story (2022) and The Never Story (2017), keeping with his running theme of time-related album titles. He also told fans the project would drop after he finished touring with 21 Savage on the American Dream Tour, which wrapped in June 2023. However, the album never materialized, leaving many to question when—or if—it would arrive.

JID’s yearlong silence on the album had fans calling him out on social media, with one jokingly grouping him alongside notorious “album delayers” Frank Ocean and Kanye West. “Frank, Ye, now Jiddy… generational drop cappers,” the user wrote. Others pleaded for new music, referencing his past promises to “drop music all year and see what happens.”

Dream Collabs and a Possible Earl Sweatshirt Feature

Along with confirming the completion of Forever & A Day, JID also named Beyoncé, Sly Stone, and Earl Sweatshirt as his dream collaborators. While Beyoncé and Stone may be long shots, an Earl Sweatshirt collaboration seems far more realistic given both rappers’ lyrical prowess and underground ties. Fans have long wanted to hear them trade verses, and JID’s comments suggest it could finally happen on the upcoming project.

Additionally, JID has been teasing a joint project with producer Metro Boomin since 2023. Metro previously hyped the collaboration on X, posting a photo of them in the studio and writing, “Got a lot of new music coming but when me and @JIDsv drop…” JID responded with admiration, calling it an honor to work with Metro, though no official updates have been given on when—or if—their project will drop.

With Forever & A Day officially completed and an imminent release on the horizon, JID appears ready to deliver on the hype. Now, fans just have one question left: When’s the release date?
