Rick Ross Responds to 50 Cent After Criticism Over Big Meech Encounter

Rick Ross has fired back at his longtime nemesis 50 Cent after the G-Unit rapper took issue with Ross’ recent meeting with notorious gangster and Black Mafia Family (BMF) figure, Big Meech. The drama unfolded earlier this week when 50 posted a photo of a rat on Instagram, captioning it with the words: “I think I’m Big Meech,” a direct reference to Ross’ 2010 hit “B.M.F. (Blowing Money Fast).” The post appeared to be a jab at Ross, who had recently taken a photo with Big Meech, raising the ire of 50 Cent, who is known for his role in producing the BMF TV series.

In response to 50 Cent’s post, Ross didn’t hold back. On his Instagram Story, he trolled 50 with a mock video, mimicking his rival’s voice and fake-crying, saying: “N-gga took a picture with Rick Ross!” He quickly shifted back to his usual voice, adding, “You like a hoe, n-gga. Put your back against the wall and just slide down.” The playful yet sharp remark was Ross’ way of responding to 50’s ongoing attempts to discredit him.

The feud continued when 50 Cent expanded his criticism, mentioning Tammy Cowins, a producer for the BMF series and Meech’s former business partner, in a comment about Big Meech’s mistakes. 50 claimed, “The biggest mistake he ever made was not sustaining his relationship with Tammy Cowin.” However, neither Meech nor Cowins have addressed 50’s remarks.

Big Meech, whose real name is Demetrius Flenory, was released from prison in October 2024 after serving just over 15 years of a 30-year sentence. His early release, which came about due to Amendment 821 of the United States Criminal Code, was based on his good behavior and educational achievements, including obtaining his GED behind bars. He is currently in a halfway house and will be on supervised release until January 2026.

This drama between Ross and 50 continues to play out despite an earlier moment of camaraderie. Following Meech’s release, Ross and 50 were photographed together, with 50 sharing the image on his Instagram, captioning it with a message that suggested a mutual respect for Meech and his “ultimate hustler” status.

In the midst of the drama, BMF remains a major success for 50, with the show’s fourth season confirmed ahead of its third season’s premiere. The show, which dramatizes the rise of the Black Mafia Family, continues to draw attention, particularly with Meech’s son, Demetrius Flenory Jr., playing his father on screen.

As for the ongoing tension between Ross and 50 Cent, it seems like their long-standing rivalry is far from over. Fans of both artists can expect more shots to be fired in the battle for supremacy in both music and public perception.
