Drake’s Father Reacts to Kendrick Lamar’s Historic Grammy Wins for “Not Like Us”

In a candid post-Grammy conversation, Dennis Graham, father of rap superstar Drake, shared his blunt thoughts on Kendrick Lamar’s major success at the 2025 Grammys. Kendrick’s fiery diss track Not Like Us swept the night, taking home all five awards it was nominated for, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video.

When asked by TikTok account @joy.of.everything about his opinion on Kendrick’s sweeping wins and the song’s history-making feat, Dennis, a former musician himself, was unfazed. “I don’t care nothing about that shit,” he said. “That ain’t got nothing to do with me. All the best to him, man. I don’t do that bullshit.” His response was casual but firmly dismissive of the drama surrounding his son’s longstanding rivalry with Lamar.

For those following the beef between the two rap icons, it was a hard night for Drake and his camp, as Kendrick’s Not Like Us became the first diss track to ever win a Grammy and also earned the title of the most awarded rap song in Grammy history. Moreover, Kendrick became only the second rapper in history to win both Record of the Year and Song of the Year, a distinction previously held by Childish Gambino.

Kendrick appeared to continue his playful trolling of Drake during the ceremony, sporting a denim jacket and jeans—famously known as the “Canadian tuxedo.” The outfit was widely viewed as a jab at Drake, who hails from Toronto. Fans on social media caught onto the subtle dig, with one user commenting, “Damn this shit is comedy. Kendrick’s trolling is ELITE.” Fellow rapper JPEGMAFIA also chimed in, tweeting, “LMFAO Kendrick is funny AF. He accepted his award for the greatest diss song of all time. in a CANADIAN TUXEDO.”

As if the wins weren’t enough, further salt was rubbed into Drake’s wounds when A-list stars like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift were seen rapping and dancing along to Not Like Us as Kendrick’s accolades were announced. It was a moment that solidified the track’s status as an undeniable cultural phenomenon.

To top it all off, Kendrick Lamar’s momentum isn’t slowing down anytime soon. The rapper is set to make history again in the coming week, as he prepares to become the first rapper ever to headline the Super Bowl halftime show on February 9, 2025, during the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

With Kendrick’s powerful wins and his upcoming Super Bowl performance, it’s clear that the “Not Like Us” diss track is only the latest chapter in the ongoing rivalry between Drake and Lamar. As for Drake, his father’s response suggests the family isn’t sweating the competition, but with Kendrick’s dominance at the Grammys and beyond, the heat is undeniably on.
