A$AP Rocky’s Upcoming Album Don’t Be Dumb Nears One Million Pre-Saves on Spotify

A$AP Rocky is set to return with his highly anticipated album Don’t Be Dumb, and pre-release excitement is at an all-time high. The project, dropping Friday, January 16, is approaching one million pre-saves on Spotify, signaling strong fan demand nearly eight years after Rocky’s last album, Testing.
Fans are already sharing their excitement on social media. Don’t Be Dumb is currently the most pre-added album on Apple Music, with listeners calling Friday’s release a major event. The buzz reflects the anticipation for Rocky’s new sound and creative vision.
Rocky has already shared two singles from the project. The first, Punk Rocky, debuted with a music video starring Winona Ryder and earned 1.6 million Spotify streams in its first day. His second single, Helicopter, also arrived with a visually striking video, giving fans a glimpse of the album’s diverse approach. An official tracklist has not yet been confirmed, but both singles are expected to feature on the album.
Don’t Be Dumb will drop on the same day as other major releases, including The Game’s latest Gangsta Grillz mixtape and NBA YoungBoy’s Slime Cry. The simultaneous launches have heightened anticipation, marking a competitive week for hip-hop fans.
In addition to digital releases, Rocky partnered with financial company Bilt to produce an exclusive vinyl edition of the album. The 15-track, 2LP vinyl spans multiple genres, including jazz, hip-hop, metal, indie, and R&B. According to Bilt, each track captures a unique mood or moment, showcasing Rocky’s versatility and artistic range.
With pre-save numbers climbing and early singles making a strong impact, Don’t Be Dumb is poised to be one of the year’s most talked-about releases, offering fans a dynamic mix of sounds and visuals from the Harlem rapper.
