LiAngelo Ball Finds Success in Music with Platinum Hit “Tweaker”

LiAngelo Ball, the middle Ball brother, never realized his dream of playing in the NBA, unlike his siblings Lonzo and LaMelo. Despite that, he has carved out his own path, finding success in music.
He released his first official track, “Tweaker,” in January, after previewing it during a live stream with N3on. The song initially gained attention for its meme-worthy chorus, but it quickly attracted a dedicated following. Ten months after its release, “Tweaker” was certified platinum by the RIAA, marking sales of over one million units in the U.S.
While this is his only certified record so far, it has established LiAngelo as a rising name in music. The track led to a significant deal with Def Jam/UMG shortly after its release, reportedly worth $13 million, with $8 million guaranteed. The song has also taken him to major events, including a Lions playoff game, NBA All-Star Weekend, Rolling Loud, and a spot on the XXL Freshman list.
“Tweaker” served as the lead single for his debut album, League of My Own, released in July. The album features other notable tracks like “Law N Order” and “Can You Please” with GloRilla. The song’s platinum status places LiAngelo in rare company in 2025, alongside artists such as Mariah the Scientist, BigXthaPlug, Lil Tecca, and Drake.
LiAngelo Ball’s pivot from basketball to music demonstrates his ability to identify and pursue his passion, earning him recognition and commercial success in a competitive industry.
