Megan Thee Stallion Teases New Single “Lover Girl” Ahead of October 24 Release

Megan Thee Stallion has confirmed the release date for her upcoming single, “Lover Girl,” set to drop on Friday, October 24. Over the past few weeks, the rapper has teased the track extensively on social media, building anticipation among fans.

“Lover Girl” incorporates a prominent sample from Total’s 1996 R&B hit, “Kissin’ You.” Megan raps lyrics that hint at romance and intimacy: “My man, my man, my man, my baby, my baby / D**kin’ me down, spoiling me, driving me crazy.” Fans have speculated that the song draws inspiration from her relationship with NBA star Klay Thompson.

To announce the release, Megan posted on Instagram with a red, heart-shaped lollipop displaying the date “10/24″ and captioned it: “LOVER GIRL FRIDAY.” The post quickly generated excitement, with fans flooding the comments. One user wrote, “GIRL FINALLY!! WHAT THE HECK?!?” while another said, “Yay! I don’t even have a man tho, but who cares! We streaming.” Several fans directly referenced Klay Thompson in their responses.

Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson publicly confirmed their relationship in July, making their red carpet debut as a couple at the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York. Speaking to Page Six, Megan praised Thompson, calling him “genuinely a nice person” and the first partner who makes her genuinely happy. She added that she felt grateful for their connection and that he reciprocated her feelings.

The rapper is also working on her third studio album, tentatively titled Act III. Megan revealed during a TikTok Live session in March that the project is in progress and that she is currently deciding on feature collaborations.

“Lover Girl” marks Megan’s latest release since she confirmed her relationship and teased her upcoming album, signaling a personal and creative period for the artist. Fans can expect the single to reflect both her musical style and personal experiences.

The single will be available for streaming across all major platforms starting Friday, October 24.
