Fat Joe Praises Drake for Dominating the Charts on Joe and Jada Podcast

During a recent episode of the Joe and Jada podcast with Jadakiss, Fat Joe gave major praise to Drake for his influence on hip-hop over the past decade. The discussion centered around the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where Fat Joe credited the Toronto rapper for consistently keeping hip-hop present in the top 40.
“You realize that Drake was probably keeping us in that top 40 for f*ckin’ 5, 10 years. Like, every record he made was going number 1,” Fat Joe said in a clip that has circulated widely on social media. “I think he’s battling Michael Jackson for the most number 1s.”
Fans have reacted with mixed opinions. Some argue that much of Drake’s music leans toward pop rather than hip-hop, with one X (formerly Twitter) user stating, “70% of those songs are pop not hip hop. They don’t live in the culture. His ghost writers fooled yall.” Another fan criticized podcast hosts for not speaking honestly about Drake’s chart performance, adding, “He didn’t chill. He got humiliated. I’m sick of these people with podcasts that don’t tell the truth. Everybody is so afraid to speak their minds because of the possibility of getting money & certain opportunities taken away from them. Drake has been dropping music non stop.”
Both Fat Joe and Jadakiss agreed that Drake is likely to dominate the charts again with his next studio album. Although he has not confirmed a release date for Iceman, Drake has already shared multiple singles from the project. These include “What Did I Miss?”, “Which One” featuring Central Cee, and “Dog House” featuring Yeat and Julia Wolf. He premiered the tracks through three livestream broadcasts, and told Complex that more livestreams are expected before the album drops. He described the final session as “our best work.”
Earlier this year, Drake also collaborated with PartyNextDoor on the album Some Sexy Songs 4 U, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 246,000 album-equivalent units. The single “Nokia” from the project reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
With multiple projects already charting successfully and new releases on the horizon, Drake continues to maintain his stronghold on both hip-hop and mainstream music. Fat Joe’s comments highlight the rapper’s lasting influence and chart dominance over the last decade.
