A$AP Rocky Confirms Fans Will Have to Wait for Don’t Be Dumb

A$AP Rocky has announced he will no longer share release dates for his upcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb. In an interview with Numéro Magazine published Monday, he said he prefers to let the music speak for itself, after years of delays and anticipation from fans.

“To be honest, I don’t want to talk about release dates anymore,” Rocky said. “I’d rather let the music speak for itself. One day, you’ll wake up and see what’s coming up. I was a bit foolish giving dates last time… Today, I want to make it clear. You’ll just have to wait and enjoy the record when it’ll come out.”

The rapper also discussed other projects in the interview, including his work with Spike Lee on Highest 2 Lowest, his fashion choices, and his collaboration with Puma.

Don’t Be Dumb was initially expected in August 2024, but the release was delayed indefinitely just days before its planned drop. Several singles have already been released, including “Highjack,” “Tailor Swif,” “Ruby Rosary,” and “Pray4DaGang,” giving fans a preview of the album’s sound.

In March, Rocky told GQ the album was in mixing and mastering. “People are tired of hearing about updates about the album. They’re just ready to get this sht. I don’t think anybody wants to hear where I’m at with it, how far it is along and all that. They just want to hear some sht to see where I’m at, and I promise I got some new sh*t in store. I’m challenging myself. It’s like anything, I approach it with a different tactic, degree, or finesse,” he said.

Fans will now have to remain patient, as Rocky continues to refine the project, promising a record that reflects his evolving creative vision.
