Ice Spice Set to Release New Single “Baddie Baddie” on September 26

Ice Spice is dropping a new single titled “Baddie Baddie” on Friday, September 26. She confirmed the release on Instagram Monday morning, sharing the cover artwork and encouraging fans to pre-save the track on Spotify and Apple Music.

Fans quickly responded to the post, praising her look and expressing excitement for the song. Comments included, “Yasss this look is fire I know the whole song will be too,” and “Ur hairrrr loooks so bomb like this,” accompanied by multiple fire emojis.

Earlier this month, Ice Spice hinted at what to expect from “Baddie Baddie” in an interview with Nylon. She confirmed a music video is coming, describing it as chaotic and energetic. She said, “I do love a chaotic visual. They send it to me a little chill, and I’m like, ‘Chop it up more!’ That’s why I’m very excited to drop a visual more than anything, and I’m going to pace myself. When I drop this visual, I’m going to let my fans soak it up. I’m going to soak it up.”

The song samples M.I.A.’s iconic track “Bad Girls.” A snippet shared on Instagram features Ice Spice rapping: “They said they wanted a bop, I was just poppin’ my sh*t / I ain’t even really mean to go pop.” She has not announced a follow-up album to her 2024 debut project, Y2K!.

“Baddie Baddie” will be Ice Spice’s second release in September, following her collaboration with Latto on “Gyatt.” That track marked the two rappers reconciling after a 2023 feud.

Ice Spice recently made her big-screen debut in Spike Lee’s film Highest 2 Lowest, starring alongside Denzel Washington and A$AP Rocky. The single and video for “Baddie Baddie” are expected to continue her momentum across music and entertainment.
