Drake’s Take Care Hits Streaming Milestone 14 Years After Release

Drake continues to cement his status as one of hip-hop’s most influential artists, and his 2011 album Take Care is proving its lasting impact. On Saturday, August 30, the record experienced its biggest day on Spotify, reaching four million streams. Despite being nearly 14 years old, it remains among the top four most-streamed rap albums daily, according to RapTV.

The album’s performance is notable beyond daily streams. Take Care currently sits at number 30 on the Billboard 200 and is approaching its 652nd week on the chart. Last week, it was in the 34th spot. According to Power 98 and Forbes, only 12 albums have achieved this level of longevity, placing Drake in an elite group. The LP has amassed over 6.2 billion streams on Spotify, making it his fifth most-streamed album on the platform, according to Kworb.

Take Care is widely regarded as Drake’s magnum opus. Its blend of rapping and singing, combined with genre versatility, set a template for modern hip-hop and influenced a generation of artists. While there have been rumors of a sequel, Drake has not confirmed any plans, leaving the album as a standalone classic.

Fans can expect Drake’s next major release with his ninth studio album, ICEMAN. He has teased the project since completing his Anita Max Wynn tour, sharing hints through Instagram posts and YouTube livestreams. Two singles have already been released: the reflective “What Did I Miss?” and the vibey “Which One” featuring Central Cee. While no official release date has been set, close friend Johnny Manziel suggested the album could arrive by the end of October or early November.

Even years after its release, Take Care continues to dominate streams and charts, reinforcing Drake’s ability to create timeless music that resonates across generations.
