The past few years have been turbulent for Gunna. In 2022, he was arrested in a 56-count RICO case tied to Young Stoner Life Records. He was released months later after accepting a plea deal. Rumors quickly spread that Gunna had cooperated against his co-defendant, Young Thug. Gunna has denied these claims, but tension between the two has become more visible since Gunna’s release.
Despite the drama, Gunna is focusing on his music career. He recently announced his new album, The Last Wun, set to drop on August 8. According to a tweet he shared, the project will include 25 tracks and mark his final release under the YSL label.
Fans have already reacted with excitement. One wrote, “We will be there.” Another called it the “Album of the year.”
In a June interview with Uproxx, Gunna said the album does not follow a specific theme or concept. “When I create, I go with what I feel,” he explained. He described his process as spontaneous, letting life guide the music. “For this album in particular, it’s no theme. It’s in current time of what’s happening with me.”
So far, Gunna has only revealed the album cover. No tracklist or guest features have been confirmed. The Last Wun will follow his 2024 release, One Of Wun.
Gunna’s announcement arrives shortly after Young Thug appeared to throw shade on social media. On X, Young Thug wrote, “If u a rapper and u a rat, u gotta just go gospel twin.” Young Thug is currently working on his own upcoming album, UY Scuti, with no official release date announced.
As the feud simmers, fans are watching closely to see how both artists respond through their music.
