Young Thug Unleashes Live Spiders in Bizarre Rollout for Upcoming Album Uy Scuti

Young Thug is no stranger to pushing boundaries in hip-hop — musically or otherwise — and he’s proving it once again with the rollout for his upcoming album Uy Scuti, his first full-length release since being freed from jail last year. With the highly anticipated project set to drop sometime this month, the Atlanta rapper has opted for an unconventional marketing strategy that has both fans and media buzzing — quite literally.
In a move that has taken promotional stunts to a new level, select members of the press have been receiving mysterious packages from Thugger’s camp. Upon opening the box, recipients are met with a live spider crawling inside, accompanied by a cryptic message: “Take care of me until we reach UY SCUTI.” No official release date for Uy Scuti has been revealed, but the campaign suggests the launch is near. The album title, a nod to one of the largest known stars in the universe, hints that Thugger may be aiming for a project of cosmic proportions.
So far, Young Thug has only dropped one single in support of the album — “Money on Money” featuring Future. The track marks a bombastic return for the rapper, but it’s also turning heads for its pointed lyrics. Many believe the song includes jabs aimed at former friend and YSL associate Gunna, who took an Alford plea during the YSL RICO trial. On the track, Thug raps, “These f*** n****s tellin’ for nothin’, and I gotta be the one callin’ ’em friends,” followed by “Brother, you a rat,” and “Twin, you a rat, you smoked, uh.”
These lines appear to add to the ongoing tension between Thug and Gunna, who has repeatedly denied snitching. Thug has previously hinted at betrayal in another snippet posted on Instagram, rapping, “Never associate with a rat/ Go and get some money, get a pack.” When asked directly in a GQ interview about the current status of their relationship, Thug gave a vague answer: “I know everybody wonders [what our relationship is like now]. I don’t know.”
In another teaser from what may be an album track, Thug referenced his relationship with Mariah The Scientist during an Instagram Live session. From a bathtub with no water, he previewed lyrics that included: “I told her I won’t cheat again/ Took her up the [inaudible] Benz/ I’m on a million dollar streak again.”
With a mix of bold lyricism, mysterious rollout tactics, and glimpses into his personal life, Uy Scuti is shaping up to be more than just a musical comeback. For Young Thug, it’s a statement — and he’s making sure the world can’t look away.
