Lil Wayne Announces ‘Tha Carter VI’ Album and Massive 34-City Tour Across North America

Lil Wayne is officially back in full force for 2025, and fans have plenty to celebrate. The rap icon is making a major return with the release of Tha Carter VI, his first solo album in over five years, and he’s following it up with a massive 34-city North American tour that’s set to remind everyone why he’s one of the most influential artists of all time.

According to Consequence, the tour will kick off on June 6 with a landmark show at Madison Square Garden—the same day Tha Carter VI drops. This performance marks Wayne’s first time headlining at the iconic venue, setting the tone for what promises to be a career-defining tour. After the NYC debut, Wayne is taking a brief break, allowing fans to sit with the new music before restarting the tour over a month later on July 30 in Bristow, Virginia.

From there, Lil Wayne will hit a mix of major cities and smaller markets across the U.S. and Canada. Fans in Detroit, Phoenix, Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Atlanta will all have a chance to see the Louisiana legend live. Cities like Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and Holmdel, New Jersey will also get their moment. The tour will officially wrap up on October 2 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Joining Wayne on select dates are an exciting mix of artists including Tyga, NoCap, Belly Gang Kushington, and the legendary Hot Boys. While many fans are especially hyped about a potential Hot Boys reunion, reports suggest the full group will only perform together during the Oklahoma City stop—making it one of the tour’s most highly anticipated shows.

The official poster for the tour teases performances from across the Tha Carter series, promising a nostalgic and wide-ranging setlist that spans Wayne’s decades-long career. With hits from the early 2000s to brand-new material from Tha Carter VI, fans can expect a show packed with high energy, deep cuts, and genre-defining anthems.

Tha Carter VI is set to be a significant moment for Lil Wayne. It’s been nearly seven years since Tha Carter V and over five years since his last solo project. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Wayne hinted at a fresh creative direction, saying, “If there’s one thing about this album that’s different, it’s me approaching it like, ‘Man, what would I sound like on something with such and such?’” Fans can likely expect unexpected collaborations and bold experimentation.

For those eager to catch him live, a Live Nation pre-sale starts Thursday, June 5, at 10:00 a.m. local time on Ticketmaster. General ticket sales will follow on Friday, June 6, also at 10:00 a.m.

Between a highly anticipated album and a coast-to-coast tour, 2025 is shaping up to be a monumental year for Lil Wayne—and his fans wouldn’t have it any other way.
