Cardi B is back, and she’s not holding anything back. The Bronx rapper has just dropped her first single of the year, “Outside,” and it’s already making headlines—not just for its punchy beats, but for the pointed lyrics that appear to be aimed squarely at her estranged husband, Offset.
Fans had been speculating for weeks that Cardi was preparing to address her turbulent split from the Migos rapper, especially after sharing snippets of the track online. Now that the full version is out, there’s no mistaking the target. On the fiery new song, Cardi raps:
“Good-for-nothing, low-down dirty dogs, I’m convinced / Next time you see your mama, tell her how she raised a bitch.”
She continues the takedown with even more heat:
“I been cuffed up too long, let me remind n-ggas.”
The track doesn’t just take aim at her ex—it also celebrates her new relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs. In a bold line that’s already gone viral, she boasts:
“Favorite player from your favorite team, he in my DM, uh / I’m so small and tiny, he so big and tall / Might let him dunk this pussy like he dunk the ball.”
Offset, for his part, has yet to publicly respond to “Outside”. He did recently release his own new track titled “Bodies” featuring JID, though the song doesn’t appear to reference Cardi or their ongoing divorce.
The former couple’s split has been messy and highly public. Cardi recently opened up about the emotional strain of their relationship, revealing just how bad things got before she walked away. Speaking candidly on X Spaces, the Grammy winner said:
“I don’t think people understand how tired I was… I was mentally drained. Couldn’t eat—I was getting frequent headaches. I was literally losing my mind. I gave [him] chances after chances.”
She even admitted that staying any longer could have led to dangerous consequences:
“If I was still there, I was gonna end up going to jail. Cause I was gonna end up killing him, seriously, with my own bare hands. It was just getting too much.”
Offset has since thrown shade at Cardi’s new romance with Diggs, especially after steamy footage of the couple vacationing on a yacht surfaced online. In one clip, Cardi is seen twerking on Diggs while he playfully spanks her. The visuals sparked a wave of reactions—and apparently some bitterness from Offset, who wrote on social media:
“Good roll out n PR.”
The drama surrounding their breakup continues to unfold in real time, but one thing is clear—Cardi is reclaiming her voice, her independence, and her place at the top of the rap game. With “Outside,” she’s letting the world know that she’s done being quiet—and she’s doing it on her own terms.
