Bun B Says Travis Scott Must Respond to Pusha T’s Diss: “The People Will Demand It”

Bun B has weighed in on the brewing tension between Pusha T and Travis Scott, making it clear that he expects the Houston rapper to respond—and soon.

Speaking with Shannon Sharpe on his Night Cap podcast, the UGK legend didn’t mince words about the gravity of the situation. With Pusha T’s lyrical jabs aimed directly at Scott, Bun B acknowledged just how serious things could get. “Pusha’s a dangerous man,” he said. “He’s willing to throw caution to the wind and be like, ‘You know what? I don’t really f*** with him anyway.’ You don’t see Pusha at awards shows, you don’t see him at clubs, at parties—they don’t mix like that.”

Bun highlighted that while Pusha T and Scott live in very different hip-hop circles, both are deeply rooted in their respective lanes. “They mix with their own and they’re pretty good in the streets as well, so it’s whatever,” he added.

Pressed on whether Travis Scott would retaliate, Bun B didn’t hesitate. “That being said, Travis ain’t ’bout to back down. He’s from Houston. I wouldn’t be surprised if you hear something before the weekend is done,” Bun said confidently. “It’s either go into it or act like it didn’t happen, but the problem is that the people are going to demand a response. When these beefs happen, you have to respond. … But you gotta be careful when people try to bait you in.”

The tension escalated after Pusha T delivered a searing verse aimed at Scott on the latest Clipse track So Be It, where he raps:
“You cried in front of me, you died in front of me / Calabasas took your bitch and your pride in front of me / Her utopia had moved right up the street / And her lip gloss was poppin’, she ain’t need you to eat.”

These lyrics, widely interpreted as a scathing reference to Scott’s relationship history and his recent album Utopia, have set the internet ablaze, with fans and critics alike awaiting a clapback.

In a GQ interview, Pusha T confirmed that the shots weren’t random—they were personal. He accused Scott of disrespecting Pharrell Williams, particularly with the release of Meltdown, a track that includes a verse from Drake allegedly aimed at Pharrell. According to Pusha, the betrayal started in Paris during a recording session with Pharrell and Malice.

“The true context of that is we were in Paris, literally working, and [Travis] was calling to play P his new album. He came to [Pharrell’s] studio. He interrupted a session,” Pusha explained. “He sees me and Malice there. He’s like, ‘Oh, man, everybody’s here,’ he’s smiling, laughing, jumping around, doing his f***ing monkey dance. We weren’t into the music, but he wanted to play it, wanted to film [us and Pharrell listening to it]. And then a week later you hear Meltdown, which he didn’t play. He played the song, but not [Drake’s verse].”

With Pusha T continuing to double down and the pressure building, the spotlight is now firmly on Travis Scott. Whether he chooses to respond in the booth or stay silent remains to be seen—but as Bun B put it, the people will not let this one slide.
