50 Cent Appears to Confirm Role in Upcoming ‘Street Fighter’ Movie Reboot

Hip-hop icon and actor 50 Cent has seemingly confirmed that he will star in the highly anticipated reboot of the Street Fighter video game adaptation. According to Nexus Point News, 50 Cent is being eyed to play Balrog, one of the franchise’s iconic characters, in the new film.
The speculation gained traction after 50 Cent posted a screenshot of the report on his Instagram, captioning it: “No Days off, Let’s work all roads lead to Shreveport.” This cryptic message has been widely interpreted as a confirmation that he is indeed involved in the project, with Shreveport, Louisiana, rumored to be one of the filming locations.
While the studio behind the reboot has not yet made an official announcement, reports indicate that the Street Fighter cast will also include stars such as Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, and WWE superstar Roman Reigns.
If confirmed, this role could mark one of 50 Cent’s most prominent film appearances in recent years. In 2023, he appeared alongside action heavyweights Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone in The Expendables 4. Last year, he led the cast of the straight-to-demand thriller Boneyard, which also featured Mel Gibson.
50 Cent’s acting career boasts a range of memorable performances, including his semi-autobiographical debut Get Rich or Die Tryin’, the crime thriller Righteous Kill alongside Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, the action-packed Escape Plan series, and the boxing drama Southpaw.
Beyond acting, 50 Cent has been expanding his footprint behind the camera. Recently, he announced the expansion of his TV channel, 50 Cent Action, into the UK market. Speaking to Deadline, he explained the significance of reaching his international audience.
“You know, everybody loves London. If you’re from New York, or you’re a recording artist from America in general, the first stop and your first dose of international love is London,” he said.
He continued, “My audience, my core audience – the people that were enjoying my music in the very beginning – is at home. They’re older. They’ll understand the entertainment choices that I make creatively. I’ve used music to merge with entertainment.”
The channel, which is powered by Lionsgate’s extensive library, features over 1,000 movies and TV shows, including 50 Cent’s own hit series Power and its spin-offs. The UK launch is seen as a major step in connecting with fans who have long supported his music and acting career globally.
As excitement builds around the Street Fighter reboot, fans are eager to see how 50 Cent’s portrayal of Balrog will bring the fierce and formidable character to life on the big screen. With a star-studded cast and a fresh take on the beloved video game franchise, the film is already shaping up to be a major event for action and gaming enthusiasts alike.
