Young Thug Labels Kid Cudi a “Rat” After Explosive Testimony in Diddy’s Sex Trafficking Trial

Young Thug has stirred controversy online by publicly criticizing Kid Cudi following the latter’s dramatic testimony against Sean “Diddy” Combs in an ongoing sex trafficking trial. Cudi took the stand on May 22, delivering emotional testimony about a series of alarming incidents involving Diddy—including a home break-in, a hurt dog, and his car being set on fire.

Shortly after Cudi’s court appearance, Young Thug took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice his disapproval in a now-deleted post. “Dam cudi a rat lol,” the Atlanta rapper wrote, suggesting that Cudi’s cooperation with authorities crossed a line in the unspoken street code of silence.

Interestingly, Thug’s own attorney from his high-profile RICO case, Brian Steel, is reportedly part of Diddy’s extensive legal defense team. This connection has raised eyebrows, especially among fans and observers closely following both trials.

Cudi’s testimony centered on a brief romantic relationship he had with singer Cassie in 2011. He told the court that he believed Cassie had ended things with Diddy before their relationship began. However, the situation allegedly escalated in December 2011, when Diddy found out about them.

Cudi said Cassie called him in distress, and shortly after, a friend informed him that Diddy had broken into his home. The rapper claimed that Diddy was waiting for him when he returned and that his security system had been disabled. He further testified that several personal items had been rummaged through, and Christmas presents were opened. More disturbingly, his dog was found injured and locked in a bathroom.

“The whole experience was unsettling,” Cudi told the court. “I wanted to confront him, I wanted to fight him.” He filed a police report about the break-in and, a month later, endured another traumatic event when a molotov cocktail was thrown into his parked car while he was away. His dog sitter discovered the aftermath, and Cudi again notified the authorities.

The Cleveland artist also spoke about a follow-up meeting with Diddy, where the music mogul denied involvement in the firebombing. Cudi said that while the meeting ended amicably, and he found some personal closure, he still carried emotional scars from the incidents.

Kid Cudi has received both praise and criticism for his decision to testify. Many fans applauded his courage, especially considering the severity of the allegations in the case. However, Young Thug’s post reflects a different segment of hip-hop culture that views testifying in criminal proceedings as a betrayal, regardless of the circumstances.

As the Diddy case continues to unfold, Cudi’s testimony may prove to be a crucial piece of evidence. Meanwhile, the fallout between prominent figures like Cudi and Young Thug underscores the deeper divides within the rap community over issues of justice, loyalty, and accountability.
