SZA Defends Megan Thee Stallion Amid Renewed Claims from Tory Lanez’s Legal Team

SZA is speaking out in strong support of Megan Thee Stallion as Tory Lanez and his legal team continue to cast doubt on Megan’s account of the 2020 shooting that led to Lanez’s conviction. The Grammy-winning singer came to Megan’s defense after a video resurfaced on Instagram questioning the facts of the case and attempting to discredit the Houston rapper’s testimony.

In the comments section, SZA didn’t hold back. “The density !!!!! I’m actually SO shocked at the amount of ppl fully comfortable bullying a woman that’s proven to be a victim of assault ??! Like out loud where other ppl can see you ?? Lmao u finna be stupid OUTLOUD ?” she wrote, calling out the ongoing harassment Megan continues to face online.

Although Megan has not yet publicly responded to SZA’s words of support, she has previously addressed the continued online attacks and Lanez’s repeated legal maneuvers. “At what point are yall gonna stop making me have to re live being shot BY TORY !?” Megan wrote in a previous statement. “At what point are Tory and yall FANS gonna stop lying ? Like how much is the check to keep harassing me? Why is this happening EVERY DAY?”

Megan further expressed her frustration with the shifting narratives surrounding the incident. “One min him/ yall said I was never shot now yall letting him play in yall face AGAIN and say I was shot but it wasn’t him oh okay… ?! I’m sick of this shit LEAVE ME TF ALONE!!!! HE AINT DARE GET ON THAT STAND AND DENY HE SHOT ME AND THAT WAS HIS CHOICE BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE DID THAT SHIT! IDGAF ABT A BLOG OR A BOT!!! WHY IN TF WOULD ME … MEGAN THEE STALLION HAVE TO LIE ON THIS MF ABT SHOOTING ME!”

The rapper also dismissed any claims of newly discovered evidence from Lanez’s team, stating: “FACTS ARE FACTS, he did it, it was PROVEN IN COURT fuck the hate campaign on the internet TORY YOU SHOT ME !! Ain’t no new fucking evidence yall been saying the same shit for years.”

She ended her message by calling Tory Lanez a “fucking demon,” doubling down on her stance that the truth has already been made clear in a court of law.

Meanwhile, Lanez’s legal team continues to push for his release from prison, claiming to have new information and circulating a petition asking for a pardon. The ongoing efforts have sparked fresh waves of debate online, with some defending the convicted artist and others, like SZA, standing firmly in support of Megan.

SZA’s decision to publicly stand up for Megan highlights the ongoing challenge women—especially Black women—face when speaking out about violence and trauma. As the conversation around accountability in the music industry continues, artists like SZA are using their platforms to push back against misinformation and support survivors.
