Snoop Dogg Fires Back at Critics Over Trump Association: “You Can’t Tear Me Down”

Snoop Dogg is making it clear that he won’t be silenced by critics questioning his recent interactions with Donald Trump. The West Coast rap legend, known for his outspoken nature and unfiltered persona, recently addressed the backlash he’s faced for performing at a Trump-aligned event and softening his stance on the former president. In an appearance on The Breakfast Club, Snoop made it known that he doesn’t answer to anyone — and he’s ready to confront detractors directly.

The controversy reignited after Snoop performed at the Crypto Ball earlier this year, an event that celebrated Donald Trump and drew support from far-right figures. Many fans were taken aback, especially considering Snoop’s past public criticisms of Trump. But Snoop, staying true to form, responded in his own unapologetic way.

“Can’t none of you muthafuckers tell me what I can and can’t do,” Snoop declared during the interview. “But I’m not a politician. I don’t represent the Republican Party. I don’t represent the Democratic Party. I represent the muthafucking Gangster Party, period point blank. And G shit, we don’t explain shit.”

Rather than defend his actions in detail, the rapper said he let his critics talk — until they crossed the line. That’s when he would confront them one-on-one through social media.

“Even on my Instagram page, like after that, I would post shit and I see muthafucker like ‘oh he a sellout,’” Snoop shared. “You know what I would do? Jump right in their muthafucking DM with a video, ‘You bitch ass n-gga. What’s happening, n-gga, I’m Snoop Dogg, n-gga, what you want to do?’”

According to Snoop, the response was almost always the same: backpedaling and apologies. “And guess what they would do? ‘Oh, man, I’m just a fan, man. I’m sorry.’ Yeah, n-gga, you got me fucked up.”

While his raw approach caught attention, it also cost him. Snoop reportedly lost a staggering number of social media followers in the days following his Crypto Ball performance. But he didn’t back down. Instead, he addressed the situation head-on with a video message to fans.

“Y’all can’t hate enough me for me, I love too much. Get your life right, stop worrying about mine,” he said. “I’m cool, I’m together. Still a Black man. Still a hundred percent Black. I ain’t going nowhere, cuh! I’m right here. Get the Crypto on Crip, though.”

In a message to his Black critics specifically, Snoop emphasized unity over division: “We gotta learn to pick each other up instead of pulling each other down. That’s what we’re great at as Black people — we’re great at tearing each other down. You can be up one minute and they try to pull you down the next.”

But Snoop insists he’s built to withstand the hate: “I’m a strong Black man, I’m cut from a different cloth. You can’t tear me down. I’m one of God’s children, and I’m taking the load.”

As the backlash lingers and his political associations spark debate, Snoop Dogg remains unfazed. Love him or hate him, the Doggfather is standing on his truth — and he’s not asking for anyone’s permission.
