Travis Scott’s Coachella Curfew Violation Costs Organizers $20K — But JACKBOYS 2 Might Be Days Away

Travis Scott’s headlining Coachella performance may have delivered high energy and crowd-pleasing hits, but a small curfew overrun ended up triggering a hefty fine for the festival organizers. The Astroworld artist closed out both Saturday nights during Coachella’s two-weekend run this April, but on the first Saturday, his set stretched five minutes past the midnight cutoff — resulting in a $20,000 penalty for event producers Goldenvoice.
Why the Fine Happened
According to a report by TMZ, the fine was levied in accordance with a strict agreement between Goldenvoice and the City of Indio. That agreement enforces a $20,000 charge for the first five minutes over curfew, with an additional $1,000 added for every minute afterward.
Fortunately for organizers, Travis’s performance clocked in right at the five-minute mark, avoiding further charges. Sources say the delay wasn’t entirely his fault — Green Day, the act that preceded him, reportedly started 15 minutes late due to a fireworks issue, pushing Travis’s schedule back and ultimately causing the brief overage.
Despite the fine, it was the only one issued across both weekends of Coachella and the Stagecoach Festival, so organizers are unlikely to be too concerned about the financial setback.
JACKBOYS 2 on the Way?
While the curfew incident made headlines, Travis Scott had more exciting news for fans this week. In an Instagram birthday tribute to his mother, he strongly hinted that JACKBOYS 2 — the long-anticipated sequel to his 2019 compilation album — could be arriving very soon.
“EVERYONE WISH THE BIGGEST GOAT A HAPPYYYY BDAAAYYY THE QUEEEEN OF DIS HERE. MI MOMMMMMMMAAAAAAA LOVE YA MOOMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAA,” he wrote. “PS I PLAYED HER JACKBOYS 2 SHE SAID DROP ON YOUR BDAY BABY JACK. !!!!!”
Travis’s birthday falls on April 30 (the same day as his mom’s), prompting speculation that the project could drop that day or just two days later on the traditional Friday release schedule.
Teasers & Hype
Scott hasn’t been shy about building anticipation for the upcoming project. Earlier this month, he posted: “Jackboys album brazy. I just threw up. Certified.” He’s also made it clear he wants to release the album before making his next WWE appearance — referencing his buzzed-about moment at WrestleMania 41.
In one Instagram post with photos from the event, he declared: “I DONT WANT A RECEIPT I WANT BLOOOODDD AFTER JACKBOYS 2 I NEEEEEDDD THAT.”
The first JACKBOYS album, released in December 2019, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Featuring standout names like Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, and Chase B, it solidified Travis’s Cactus Jack label as a force in the hip-hop world. Expectations are sky-high for this second installment.
What’s Next for Travis?
With Coachella behind him, a new album on the horizon, and growing involvement in WWE entertainment, Travis Scott continues to expand his brand in multiple directions. Whether it’s topping music charts or stepping into the ring, the Houston native shows no signs of slowing down.
As fans keep their eyes peeled for JACKBOYS 2, all signs point to a major week ahead in the world of Travis Scott.
