Knxwledge Accuses Mach-Hommy of Stealing Beats: “Your Favorite Rapper a Thief”

Hip Hop’s underground scene was shaken this week after acclaimed producer Knxwledge publicly accused elusive rapper Mach-Hommy of stealing a full album’s worth of beats from him. The two once worked closely together, but Knxwledge has now blasted his former collaborator for what he describes as blatant theft and disrespect.

The drama surfaced after a fan asked Knxwledge on Instagram if he had any unreleased collaborations with Mach still in the vault. The producer didn’t hold back, responding:

“That n-gga stole a album worth of beats and released a dogshit mixed 12″ for 1k each. Dnt ask me shit abt this n-gga.”
He followed up with a harsh statement:
“Your favorite rapper a thief.”

A Soured History

Knxwledge and Mach-Hommy once shared creative chemistry, teaming up for the 2017 project The Spook, which was sold in ultra-limited vinyl editions at a steep $1,000 price tag. Knxwledge now claims that the beats on that record were used without his consent, and that the final product was poorly mixed and released independently by Hommy.

This isn’t the only time the two crossed paths — they also collaborated on standout tracks like “Fresh Off the Boat,” “Gnarly Dude,” and “Ron van Clief.” Their working relationship, however, appears to have deteriorated beyond repair.

Mach-Hommy has yet to publicly respond to Knxwledge’s allegations.

Mach’s Recent Moves

The controversy comes just months after the release of Mach-Hommy’s most recent album, #RICHAXXHAITIAN (2024), which has been celebrated as his most commercially successful and high-profile project to date. The album featured heavyweight collaborators such as Black Thought, Roc Marciano, 03 Greedo, and producers like KAYTRANADA, Conductor Williams, and Quelle Chris.

In press for the album, Mach emphasized his preference for working with familiar and like-minded creatives.

“There has to be a thread of commonality between us in order for the work to sustain,” he said. “And not to mention they’re f–king talented.”

Still, the rollout of #RICHAXXHAITIAN didn’t go entirely smoothly. The album mysteriously disappeared from Spotify shortly after release, causing Mach to issue a statement.

“Spotify said they thought it was me that took it down, which is preposterous,” he said in a video posted online. “This is a very important release — not only for the listeners and the investors, but the creator.”

Fallout and Questions

While fans continue to debate the truth behind Knxwledge’s accusations, the silence from Mach-Hommy is only fueling speculation. In the insular world of underground hip hop — where trust, exclusivity, and artistic integrity mean everything — a fallout like this could leave lasting damage.

Knxwledge, known for his work with Anderson .Paak as part of NxWorries and a deep catalog of experimental hip hop instrumentals, doesn’t seem interested in burying the hatchet.

Whether Mach-Hommy chooses to address the controversy or stay silent, the damage might already be done.
