Ja Rule Pays Emotional Tribute to Irv Gotti During Tour Stop Amid Renewed Feud With 50 Cent

Ja Rule led a heartfelt tribute to his longtime collaborator Irv Gotti during his opening set on Nelly’s Where The Party At Tour, bringing a wave of emotion to fans in Ottawa on Monday, April 14. The tour stop, which also featured fellow rap icon Eve, turned into a touching homage to the late Murder Inc. boss.

Ahead of performing his track “I Cry,” Ja queued up a montage of Irv Gotti and his family on the big screen. The visuals played alongside a voice recording of Gotti praising the late DMX, making the moment even more powerful. As the audio played, Ja took a pause to honor both men, saying: “Gotti I love you n-gga! X, I love you n-gga!” before launching into the song.

The emotional tribute comes amid a fiery reignition of Ja Rule’s decades-long feud with 50 Cent, which recently escalated after Ja voiced his frustration over 50’s mockery of Gotti’s passing.

During an appearance on The Breakfast Club last week, Ja Rule shared that he had been tempted to “go nuclear” in response to 50’s disrespectful comments but was talked down by former drug kingpin Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff — a mutual associate and friend to both artists.

50 Cent quickly responded on Instagram, reposting the clip with a mocking caption: “The Breakfast Club should be ashamed of themselves asking questions that perpetuate violence. This fool has been ready to go what he calls nuclear for 22 years. LOL.” He also added a jab at Gotti, saying: “Ya man in my Runtz right now!” The post was later deleted, but not before it sparked widespread backlash and triggered a furious response from Ja.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ja Rule unleashed a barrage of insults:
“@50cent SUCK MY DICK you bitch ass n-gga… I already ate your lunch shut up!!! Until you do something to the n-ggas that shot you you can’t troll no more… handle your business chump lmao…”

He continued his rant, ripping into 50’s legacy:
“@50cent N-gga you’re a used car salesman everything you do is trash… music 1 good album after that trash… tv shows yeah I said it TRASH… From now on your name boo boo… boo boo the fool…”

Ja even responded to a fan who claimed 50 “ended Murder Inc.,” stating:
“You’re right he told the Feds murder inc had him shot and they put us under federal indictment… 🐀.”

Doubling down, Ja posted alleged paperwork that referred to 50 Cent, born Curtis Jackson, as an “informant,” and followed up with screenshots from a 2016 report citing former G-Unit member Bang ‘Em Smurf claiming 50 sought protection from Murder Inc. after a studio stabbing incident.

“Say I’m lying n-gga I DARE YOU,” Ja wrote. “We got receipts boo boo…”

While the feud with 50 continues to stir up headlines, Ja Rule’s tribute to Irv Gotti on tour served as a reminder of the deep connections and brotherhood behind the music that defined an era. As the Where The Party At Tour continues to roll out across North America, fans are witnessing not only nostalgia but also a powerful expression of grief, legacy, and loyalty.
