Ty Dolla $ign, Sexyy Red, and More Join Owen Wilson in Upcoming Rolling Loud Feature Film

The upcoming Rolling Loud feature film, starring Owen Wilson, has fans excited as it prepares to bring together a mix of music and comedy. According to a press release on Tuesday (March 4), the movie will feature appearances by hip hop artists Ty Dolla $ign, Sexyy Red, Ski Mask The Slump God, and legendary actor Henry Winkler. The production is currently underway, with filming having started at Rolling Loud Miami in December and continuing in Atlanta.
The film’s premise is based on a true story and follows an overprotective father, played by Owen Wilson, who sneaks his 13-year-old son into the world’s largest hip hop festival, Rolling Loud. What ensues is a chaotic adventure with the father’s reckless co-worker (played by Matt Rife) and an eccentric festival volunteer, as they navigate wild crowds, security, and complicated family dynamics.
A glimpse of the film’s humor was shared in December when a hilarious clip went viral. In the footage, Wilson is seen in the middle of the Rolling Loud crowd, transfixed by Sexyy Red’s performance on stage. The viral moment caught the attention of the “Pound Town” hitmaker herself, who responded on social media with a playful comment: “Dats my baby Owen [kissing cats emojis].”
Wilson’s connection to Rolling Loud wasn’t limited to the movie. The actor was also brought on stage as a surprise guest during Travis Scott’s headlining set at the festival. He excited the crowd by introducing the song “FE!N” and shouting, “I’m fiending for more!”
Although unconfirmed, leaked footage suggests that Travis Scott may have filmed a cameo for the movie, adding even more star power to an already exciting cast.
In other news, Ty Dolla $ign, who is also involved in the project, recently spoke out against hate speech following Kanye West’s controversial tirades. On February 11, Ty shared a message on his Instagram Story disavowing “hate speech” but did not specifically address West’s remarks. Ty’s decision to remove any reference to their collaborative partnership, ¥$, from his Instagram bio signaled his stance on the matter. However, a video promoting their song “Wheels Off” with Kanye is still available on his feed.
As production on the Rolling Loud film continues, fans can look forward to a fun-filled ride that blends comedy, music, and a touch of hip hop culture, with an all-star cast set to make the experience unforgettable.
