Sexyy Red Believes She Receives More Hate Online Than Any of Her Female Counterparts in the Rap Game

Sexyy Red, the rising star from St. Louis, has been making waves in the rap industry with her unique style and unapologetic persona. However, she believes that her journey to the top has been met with an unusual amount of negativity. During a recent interview on Big Boy’s Neighborhood on L.A.’s Real 92.3, the rapper opened up about feeling like the most hated female rapper in the industry, claiming that the hate she receives online is unlike what her peers experience.
“I think [the hate comments] are getting bigger. I ain’t gon’ fake it. I said this – I feel like I’m the most hated female rapper,” she shared candidly. According to Sexyy Red, despite receiving a lot of love from her fans, the level of hate and negativity aimed at her feels disproportionate compared to other women in the rap game.
“I get a lot of love, but they be hating on me. It be little inside shit. They tryna put me down,” she continued. “I be feeling like – is y’all sending people to comment under here? I feel like it’s some hidden agendas.”
This belief in a deliberate effort to undermine her success comes from her perception that there are coordinated efforts behind the negativity she faces online. Sexyy Red speculated that the hate could be orchestrated by various entities within the music industry, possibly including record labels and others who might feel threatened by her rise.
Her frustration is echoed by her fans, who often question why she’s subjected to such hate. “They be like, ‘Why do y’all hate her so much? What do she do to y’all? She just be chilling!’” Sexyy Red said, reflecting on the comments she’s seen from followers who are puzzled by the animosity directed at her.
Despite the online hate, Sexyy Red’s career continues to soar, with her schedule busier than ever. She has become a sought-after figure in the entertainment industry, to the point where she was recently offered a permanent role as a wrestler in WWE. In an interview with Dazed Digital, Sexyy Red shared that she had to turn down the offer due to her tight schedule but opted for a cameo appearance instead, which she described as a unique experience. “Rapping and wrestling are pretty much the same,” she said. “It’s not quite acting, but it’s kind of acting too, right? Because when we go home and take off all our jewels and gold and remove the costumes we wear, we then have to go right back to reality with our families.”
On the music front, Sexyy Red continues to make an impact, with her recent collaboration with Bruno Mars on the track “Fat Juicy & Wet.” The song, which was teased on social media before its release, showcases her growing influence in the music industry. Bruno Mars, known for his ability to create chart-topping hits, expressed excitement about working with Sexyy Red, particularly on a track that blends the world of rap with the strip club anthem genre.
As Sexyy Red’s career continues to rise, it’s clear that the rapper is not letting the online hate hinder her success. Instead, she’s embracing her journey and staying focused on her growth, all while continuing to deliver music that resonates with her fans.
