Playboi Carti is finally putting an end to the speculation surrounding his highly anticipated album, I Am Music. The enigmatic rapper recently confirmed that the album is done, even as he teased a new track sampling JAY-Z’s classic “Girls, Girls, Girls.”
Carti Confirms Album Completion Amid JAY-Z Sample Talk
Over the weekend, Carti posted an Instagram Story featuring Hov’s 2001 hit, leading fans to speculate that a sampled version would appear on his upcoming project. Shortly after, producer Wheezy texted him, saying:
“Ima sample that Girls Girls Girls for you for the album.”
This immediately led to concerns that I Am Music was still being worked on, possibly delaying its expected March 2025 release. However, Carti quickly shut down those rumors, writing:
“MY ALBUM DONE ME N WHEEZY TALKING ABOUT SOME OL OTHER SHTTT.”*
‘I Am Music’ Release Imminent?
Carti has been hinting that the album’s release is just around the corner. Last week, through his label Opium’s Instagram page, he tagged Spotify and urged them to move forward with clearing the album:
“WHAT WE DOIN LETS GONE CLEAR DESE HO AHH NIG OUT.”
Spotify responded with hourglass emojis, and Carti followed up with another post saying:
“YAL BOYS PUSH UP MY N-GHA.”
Fans Await Long-Awaited Album Drop
Despite multiple delays, Carti assured fans that the wait will be worth it, stating that the album’s replay value is “on 10.”
I Am Music has been available to pre-save since September 2024, with an official notice on Carti’s website promising a release “NO LATER THAN SIX MONTHS FROM SEPTEMBER 12, 2024.” That means the March 12 deadline is nearly here, and the album could drop any day now.
Adding to the hype, Carti and his team have also erected billboards in Los Angeles and Miami with the cryptic message:
“Music Is Coming”
With the buzz reaching new heights and the album officially completed, Playboi Carti could finally be ready to deliver his long-awaited masterpiece. Fans are now counting down the days until I Am Music makes its grand debut.
