Logic Responds to Maxo Kream’s Accusations of Copying His Style

Logic has addressed claims made by Houston rapper Maxo Kream, who accused him of copying his style and allegedly stealing one of his songs. The controversy erupted on Friday (March 21) when Maxo took to social media to call out Logic for a track he previewed on FaZe Adapt’s recent livestream.
The Accusation
Maxo Kream’s frustration stemmed from Logic’s new song “700 Club” featuring Wiz Khalifa, which he believed bore a strong resemblance to his 2019 track “Meet Again.” He took to X (formerly Twitter) to post a clip of the song, writing: “Jus stole my song huh.”
Mike Dean, the legendary producer who co-produced “Meet Again,” also weighed in on the matter, commenting on Instagram: “Pay us.”
Logic’s Response
Logic responded to the allegations the following day in an Instagram video, firmly denying that he copied Maxo’s song. He revealed that he had never heard of Maxo Kream before the controversy but acknowledged the similarity between the two songs’ beats.
“I don’t be on the internet and somebody hit me about this dude I’ve never heard of before named Maxo Kream, who’s pretty dope,” Logic said. “I went and listened to the song and was like, ‘Oh wow, yeah, it’s the same sample.’ And it’s been sampled like 15 times since the ’70s. Nas has sampled it, everybody’s sampled it.”
Logic clarified that the beat used in “700 Club” was built from scratch during a Twitch livestream session, and his producer, 6ix, had sent him the beat in real-time.
Extending an Olive Branch
Rather than escalating the situation, Logic took the opportunity to praise Maxo Kream’s music and suggested they work together instead of feuding.
“I love seeing Hip Hop musicians thrive and do great,” he said. “This is just me very respectfully saying: I’ve never heard of Maxo Kream. I’m actually really happy I have ’cause now, since I’ve checked out his music, I’m like, ‘Yo, this shit is tight!’
“But I didn’t take your shit. My producer used a sample, I rapped on the shit, and if you want to see me do it from scratch, go look it up.”
Logic then proposed a collaboration, saying: “Let’s do a record! Let’s get this money and turn the fuck up! That’s what we should be doing. We’re brothers.”
Awaiting Maxo’s Response
As of now, Maxo Kream has yet to publicly respond to Logic’s video. It remains to be seen whether the two rappers will settle their differences or if the controversy will continue. Either way, Logic appears to be taking the high road, focusing on unity in the hip-hop community rather than conflict.
