Tory Lanez Reacts to PARTYNEXTDOOR’s Diss and Retraction

Tory Lanez has every reason to be confused. PARTYNEXTDOOR recently teased a diss track aimed at Lanez on Instagram Live, only to later retract his statements and claim there was no real issue between them. Fans were left wondering whether external pressure had been applied to get PND to backtrack. As it turns out, Tory Lanez seems to be just as puzzled by the situation.

Following the tease of the diss track, Lanez took to Instagram with a cryptic yet playful response. Without directly naming PARTYNEXTDOOR or referencing the track, he simply wrote: “Lol. Why wake me up?” This remark suggested that Lanez was ready for a lyrical showdown, only to be let down when PND decided to retreat. Lanez has never publicly spoken negatively about PARTYNEXTDOOR, and the two even collaborated in 2018 on “More Than Friends.” Given PND’s decision to step back, it remains unclear if Lanez will still fire back in response.

Is Tory Lanez Dropping an Album?

Despite the drama, Tory Lanez appears to be in full album mode. Ironically, PARTYNEXTDOOR was one of the artists he mentioned when discussing his motivation for recording. “PARTYNEXTDOOR showed his best work of 2025, Drake showed his best work of 2025,” Lanez said during a prison call. “The Weeknd showed his best work of 2025, now it’s time for me to come out.” According to the rapper, he planned to complete his upcoming album in just three weeks from his cell.

However, recent footage suggests that Lanez’s recording process has not been without challenges. On February 24, while recording a verse over video, a prison riot broke out behind him. The chaotic scene forced him to momentarily abandon his session, and reports later surfaced claiming that Lanez was allegedly pepper-sprayed during the incident.

Despite these setbacks, Lanez remains committed to releasing his album in the first half of the year. Given the recent controversy, it’s safe to assume that a PARTYNEXTDOOR collaboration won’t be on the tracklist. Fans will have to wait and see if Tory Lanez will respond to the situation with music or simply move on.
