Drake Teases Solo Album Following Upcoming Collaborative LP with PARTYNEXTDOOR

Drake has revealed plans for a solo album, which will follow his forthcoming collaborative project with PARTYNEXTDOOR, titled $OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U. However, the Toronto superstar plans to release the solo effort “when the time is right.”

During the second night of his Anita Max Win tour in Australia, Drake hinted at his future plans while addressing the sold-out crowd. After promoting his February 14 collaboration with PARTYNEXTDOOR, Drizzy shared, “Eventually, when the time is right, Drizzy Drake alone by himself is gonna have to have a one-on-one talk to y’all. When the time is right, I’ll be back with another album — a one-on-one conversation with y’all that you need to hear.”

The announcement, though vague, has sparked excitement among fans, many of whom have come to expect introspective storytelling and chart-topping hits from Drake’s solo projects.

The Anita Max Win Tour

Drake’s tour kicked off on February 4 in Perth, Australia, and the rapper is pulling no punches when it comes to making a statement. Walking out to the stage in a hoodie adorned with faux bullet holes and trailing smoke, Drake began his set with his 2011 classic, “Over My Dead Body.”

In a heartfelt speech, the rapper reflected on his nearly two-decade-long career. “My name is Drake. I started doing music in 2008,” he said to the crowd. “I come all the way from Toronto, Canada. The year is now 2025, and no matter what, Drizzy Drake is very much alive and that’s all thanks to you. I love you.”

Drake’s defiant tone comes in the wake of Kendrick Lamar’s dominant showing at the Grammys, where Kendrick swept the night with his diss track, “Not Like Us.” Drake, unbothered by the competition, appears focused on his artistry, as evidenced by his Instagram post after the show: “They thought einstein was lying & shakespeare was barely rhyming & edison wasn’t lit despite what he was designing. So how can I give af what they say about my stars aligning.”

$OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U Details

Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR are set to release $OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U on February 14, just in time for Valentine’s Day. While the full tracklist remains under wraps, PARTYNEXTDOOR has confirmed the project will include 15 songs. The duo recently teased fans with a video snippet that features an excerpt from one of the tracks.

Drake’s decision to announce the project during Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy triumph has fueled speculation about a subtle rivalry between the two rap giants. Still, Drake remains unfazed, focusing on his collaborative and solo ventures.

What’s Next for Drake

Drake’s forthcoming solo album promises to be a deeply personal project, as he described it as a “one-on-one conversation” with his fans. While details remain sparse, the anticipation is high, given Drake’s track record of delivering emotionally resonant and commercially successful albums.

For now, fans can look forward to $OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U, which will undoubtedly showcase the chemistry between Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR. As for his solo return, the 6 God’s loyal followers will be waiting patiently for the “right time” to hear what Drake has to say.
