Cardi B Addresses Megan Thee Stallion Fans Over New Pardison Fontaine Collab

Cardi B is clearing the air after facing backlash from Megan Thee Stallion fans for collaborating with Megan’s ex, Pardison Fontaine. Despite years of friendship with Megan and chart-topping hits like “WAP,” Cardi has a longstanding professional history with Pardi that predates Megan’s entrance into the picture.

Pardison Fontaine played a significant role in Cardi’s rise to fame, contributing to her 2018 debut album, Invasion of Privacy, and collaborating with her on his own single, “Backin’ It Up.” Their professional relationship stretches back over eight years, long before Pardi began dating Megan in 2020. However, following Pardi and Megan’s messy breakup in 2023, which involved cheating allegations, fans of Megan were quick to criticize Cardi for continuing to work with him.

The New Song and the Backlash

The controversy reignited on Tuesday (February 4) when Pardi teased an unreleased track with Cardi titled “Toot It” on social media. “It’s BEEN 8 YEARS @iamcardib,” he captioned the snippet. “GET THIS SONG OFF MY HARD DRIVE!!! N THEY KEEP ASKING FOR THIS!!!”

The announcement didn’t sit well with Megan’s fans, who accused Cardi of betraying her friend. In response, Cardi took to X Spaces to address the criticism and reaffirm her loyalty to both Megan and Pardi.

“When I fuck with two people and I like two people, I stay away from their shit,” Cardi explained. “When it comes to relationships, some bullshit will always happen. One thing about me – I’m gonna stay neutral and stay the fuck out of it.”

She continued: “I don’t wanna hear nothing because I fuck with both of y’all. God forbid some shit happen, I don’t want to be in the middle of nobody’s shit. None of that shit is my fucking business. So stop fucking harassing me, stop calling me a fucked-up person, stop calling me a fuck bitch because that’s not what I am.”

Cardi’s Defense of Pardi

Cardi’s collaboration with Pardi is not just about loyalty—it’s also rooted in respect for his talent. In a 2023 interview, Pardi praised Cardi’s brilliance and impact on the music industry, calling her a “genius.”

“She’s the first person to grab her phone and really start talking shit into it, unapologetically herself,” he said. “She crafted that from her own iPhone. That’s genius. At a time that we really ain’t have that.”

Pardi has co-written some of Cardi’s biggest hits, including “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” “WAP,” and “UP.” Despite their professional connection, Cardi emphasized that her collaboration with him doesn’t diminish her friendship with Megan.

Staying Neutral Amid Drama

Cardi’s response highlights her commitment to staying out of personal conflicts while maintaining her professional relationships. “I’m not getting in between anybody’s drama,” she reiterated. Her message is clear: she values her connections with both Megan and Pardi and refuses to let their past issues affect her friendships or career decisions.

As fans anticipate the release of “Toot It,” Cardi is standing firm in her neutrality, proving once again that she’s all about focusing on her music and staying true to herself.
