T.I. Prepares Fans for “Kill The King” With New Single “Let Em Know”

After hinting at retirement to focus on movies and standup comedy, T.I. is giving fans one last gift: his upcoming album Kill The King. The Atlanta rapper has been teasing this project for years, and Sunday, January 18, marked a major step forward with the release of the new single “Let Em Know.” Producer Pharrell Williams helped bring the track to life, delivering a polished, trap-infused sound that complements T.I.’s commanding presence.

The song opens with a trademark four-count from Sk8brd P and immediately sets a triumphant tone. T.I. flexes with confidence, controlling the energy from start to finish. Prior to the release, fans caught a glimpse of T.I. cutting off his iconic dreads, signaling a new era for the rapper and adding to the anticipation around this project.

Kill The King will be T.I.’s first studio album in roughly six years, following 2020’s The L.I.B.R.A. Fans are excited for what may be a bittersweet and nostalgic experience. Albums billed as a final chapter carry added weight, offering the artist a chance to close a career on their own terms while reflecting on decades of influence in hip hop.

Although many details about the full album remain under wraps, the release of “Let Em Know” confirms that the project is nearing completion. Fans can expect more singles and a formal rollout in the coming weeks.

T.I. has shared insight into the album’s title, connecting it to his longstanding persona as the “King of the South.” Speaking to TMZ in 2023, he explained that the concept represents both his rise in hip hop and the challenges that come with holding a position of power in the industry. “That was the beginning of a long road of many challenges, opposition and adversity,” T.I. said. “I feel like the King of the South moniker is very egotistical, self-gratuitous and it’s a persona that kind of enters the room before I do physically. Big Boi cautioned me of [the title] back when I was coming onto the scene. Big Boi said, ‘It sounds cool. I like it. But understand, when you are king, you put a big bullseye on your back. You can’t look for no favors. Life is a game of chess, and the name of the game is called Kill The King. That’s what you are setting yourself up for.’”

While no official release date has been confirmed, the drop of “Let Em Know” indicates that Kill The King is imminent. Expect trap bangers, reflective tracks, and collaborations that highlight T.I.’s versatility. This album promises to deliver both energy and emotion, giving longtime fans a chance to celebrate his career one last time through music.

T.I.’s return to the studio with Kill The King reminds fans why he remains a central figure in hip hop. Even as he expands into standup comedy and film, his musical voice is far from silent, and this album could be the defining final chapter of his rap legacy.
