On January 9, The Game took to Instagram to announce his initiative to assist families impacted by the wildfires. Teaming up with his associate @travforthestars, the rapper pledged to cover Airbnb costs for up to ten families from Los Angeles who have been displaced by the disaster. “Me and @travforthestars are helping ten families affected by the fires here. Get into Airbnb for a week free of charge,” The Game wrote in his post, urging those in need to contact @travforthestars for more details.
A Call for Safety
The Game has been vocal about the wildfires’ devastating impact. Days before his announcement, he shared a heartfelt Instagram post urging residents to prioritize their safety. “This is just sad,” he wrote. “Los Angeles is really hurting right now. If you are anywhere near fires, please pack what’s necessary & evacuate immediately. I have many friends, neighbors & people I know that have lost everything.”
The rapper revealed that his own property, located near the Santa Monica Mountains, was at risk. “My own home & those around it are in extreme danger as the Santa Monica Mountains fires continue to spread,” he added, highlighting that the fires had even reached the Hollywood Hills near Runyon Canyon.
