BigXthaPlug Drops Deluxe Version of Take Care With Three New Tracks

Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug has expanded his highly praised sophomore album Take Care with the release of a deluxe version. Released on Friday, January 24, the deluxe edition includes three fresh tracks that were not part of the original release in October 2024. The new songs, “Holy Ground” featuring Jessie Murph, “Life of a Boss,” and “Comes & Goes” featuring Tommy Newport, offer a glimpse into BigX’s evolving sound and are sure to add even more excitement to the project’s already impressive run.

BigXthaPlug has been on an upward trajectory, quickly becoming a rising star in the rap scene. His raw, resonant voice has drawn comparisons to hip-hop legends, such as the iconic Swishahouse rapper Mike Jones. HipHopDX named him one of the ‘Rising Stars’ of 2024, recognizing his growing influence in the music world. The Dallas native, whose real name is Xavier Landum, made waves in 2023 with his debut album Amar, which helped him solidify his place in the industry.

With Take Care, BigXthaPlug took his sound to new heights. The album blends soulful beats with modern trap rhythms, showcasing his unique style. As a result, Take Care was selected by HipHopDX as one of the top albums of 2024, securing the sixteenth spot on their year-end list. The album even managed to outshine projects from major artists like J. Cole, Big Sean, and Chief Keef.

However, the album wasn’t without its criticisms. Some reviewers noted that while the beats on Take Care were a highlight, the triplet rhythm throughout the entire album felt monotonous at times. Despite this, BigX’s powerful voice and soulful production have helped the album resonate with fans, making it a defining moment in his career.

In addition to the deluxe release, BigXthaPlug has continued to make an impact with his singles. Tracks like “Mmhmm” earned him a spot on the Billboard Hot 100, while his collaboration with Offset, “Climate,” hit No. 48 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. With three projects under his belt—including Bacc From the Dead (2020) and Big Stepper (2022)—BigXthaPlug has proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with in the hip-hop world.

For fans who have been following his journey, the deluxe version of Take Care is a welcome addition, offering more of the artist’s signature sound while expanding the album’s musical landscape. With this release, it’s clear that BigXthaPlug is only getting started, and the future looks bright for the 24-year-old rapper.

You can now stream Take Care (Deluxe), including the three new tracks, on all major platforms.
