Travis Scott Hints at New Music Inspired by Circus Maximus Tour

Travis Scott recently fueled anticipation for his next musical chapter during a fan interaction at Art Basel in Miami. While signing autographs, a fan inquired about the release of his new music, specifically referencing tracks he crafted while on tour. Scott responded confidently: “It’s on the way. Like, really on the way.”

This tease follows his recent projects, including UTOPIA—his critically acclaimed album released in July 2023—and the subsequent re-release of his 2014 mixtape Days Before Rodeo, which climbed the charts earlier this year. Scott has also been dropping hints about his upcoming fifth studio album, which he has said draws inspiration from his record-breaking Circus Maximus Tour.

Back in Album Mode

In a September 2024 interview with visual artist George Condo for Cultured Magazine, Scott shared that he’s fully immersed in creating new music. Reflecting on his time touring, he noted, “When I’m doing the stadiums, because they’re sold out, I can see the music for what it is. I’m [excited] to bring it to life.”

Condo, who previously collaborated with Scott on the artwork for his “Franchise” single, also reminisced about their time in Electric Lady Studios. He described Scott’s creative process as highly instinctive and expressive, which Scott confirmed, adding that he’s been recording daily, even while touring.

A City-by-City Concept?

Earlier this year, a fan speculated on X (formerly Twitter) about the direction of Scott’s next project, suggesting an album where each track is tied to the city it was created in during the tour. Scott’s enthusiastic reply—“R u in my brain or what”—appears to confirm this as a possible theme.

A Grand Reveal at Coachella

Fans won’t have to wait much longer for a taste of Scott’s new era. He’s set to headline Coachella 2025, marking his return to the festival eight years after his last appearance. Beyond performing, Scott will curate a unique festival experience titled “Travis Scott Designs The Desert.”

A press release from November 20 hinted at a fully immersive experience, promising to transform the desert into “a world of Cactus Jack creativity.” Scott’s Saturday night performances on April 13 and April 20 are expected to debut his highly anticipated new material.

As Travis Scott continues to innovate and push boundaries, fans can look forward to an album that captures the essence of his global tour while breaking new creative ground. Whether inspired by specific cities, stadium vibes, or his personal evolution, Scott’s next project promises to be a bold addition to his legacy.
