Metro Boomin Claps Back at Critics of A Futuristic Summa, Says It’s Not for Everyone

Metro Boomin isn’t here to please everyone, and he made that clear after fans criticized his latest mixtape, A Futuristic Summa, released on Friday. The project received mixed reactions online, prompting the producer to fire back on X (formerly Twitter).
“A lot of y’all get no bitches and it shows,” Metro wrote. “This mixtape is not for you if you don’t: like to twerk (or get twerked on), want to dance, want to have fun, party like a rockstar, surf & swag.”
He didn’t stop there. In a series of posts, Metro took aim at what he sees as out-of-touch listeners.
“If you never went out and competed with ya boys to see who could get the most numbers, then you might wanna sit this one out,” he said. “If yo homeboy never had to hold you up in the teen party while u was getting twerked on then you might wanna sit this one out.”
He continued: “If you never intentionally wore your clothes with the tags still on then you might wanna sit this one out. If you started listening to rap music in 2017 then you might wanna sit this one out. If you never had to write a number down period then you might wanna sit this one out.”
Despite the backlash, A Futuristic Summa features a heavyweight lineup of guests. Appearances include Future, Lil Baby, 2 Chainz, Quavo, T.I., and Waka Flocka Flame. The project blends high-energy party anthems with a throwback vibe to early 2010s Southern hip hop culture.
While defending his music, Metro also shared another personal dream. He wants to make entrance themes for WWE wrestlers. “Would love to produce some WWE entrance themes,” he posted. “It’s a lifelong goal of mine.”
This follows his involvement in WWE’s Bad Blood event last year, where his music played a central role.
Metro remains unfazed by critics. “When the work is there, you’re gonna know exactly what it is,” he said. “I promise, when it’s presented, you’re gonna know exactly what it is. There’s not gonna be so much of a mystery around it.”
Love it or hate it, Metro is doing what he wants. And that’s not changing any time soon.
