Polo G Clears Legal Hurdle: Celebrates Victory Over NYC Gun Charges
Polo G is celebrating a significant victory in his ongoing legal battles. The rapper, who has spent much of 2024 dealing with gun charges, took to social media on December 9 to announce that he has successfully beaten his case in New York City. The good news marks a much-needed win for Polo, who has faced a series of legal issues throughout the U.S. in recent years.
The Chicago native shared the news with his followers, expressing his gratitude towards his lawyer, Stacey Richman, who played a key role in getting his case dismissed. “Beat my case in NYC,” Polo G wrote over a screenshot of a text message exchange with Richman. The text from the lawyer read, “Congratulations, I just got off the record in front of the judge! Your case is dismissed and sealed.” Polo G’s caption included a heartfelt shout-out to Richman, praising her for her efforts, along with a heart emoji.
The charges stemmed from an arrest in April 2024, where Polo G was accused of criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon. According to an NYPD spokesperson, the rapper did not resist arrest, and the firearm was discovered at the scene. Polo was found with $23,000 in cash when taken into custody. However, after legal proceedings, Polo is now free of these charges, with the case officially dismissed and sealed.
While this is a significant legal win, Polo G is not entirely in the clear. He still faces legal challenges stemming from an August 2023 police raid on his Los Angeles home, which uncovered multiple weapons. Additionally, Polo has previous charges related to a 2021 arrest in Miami for battery on a police officer and criminal mischief.
Despite these ongoing issues, Polo G’s fans are hopeful that he can now focus on his music career and move past his legal troubles. The rapper’s talent remains undeniable, with his recent collaboration on Lil Tjay’s song “Way Out the Hood II” being widely praised. As Polo G continues to battle through legal challenges, fans are eager to see him thrive both in the courtroom and on the music charts.
