DDG Responds After Being Dissed by Hitta J3 Over Tory Lanez Collaboration
DDG has responded to a diss from Kendrick Lamar affiliate Hitta J3 following his recent collaboration with Tory Lanez. The track, which appears on DDG’s latest EP Handling Business, features a verse from Lanez where he seemingly takes a jab at the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Lanez raps, “I be up praying and waiting for the day that n-ggas come for me the way they did Drizzy / I got the card in the wallet and big brodie’s problems are my problems, so fuck how you feeling about it.”
This line didn’t sit well with Hitta J3, who took to social media to express his thoughts. On X, he wrote, “Tory better chill out only person coming for him is the guard on that cell block nah but free that man. DDG seen me at rich the kid party & looked like he seen a ghost & I said wassup he act like he was legally blind. The boy must really need help he got prisoners speaking up for him before his industry friends lol.”
In response, DDG addressed the situation during a live stream, where he laughed off the comments and made it clear that he didn’t even know who Hitta J3 was. “I don’t even know who this is,” DDG said as he read the posts aloud. He went on to clarify his stance, likening the situation to a hypothetical scenario where Drake and SZA would beef because SZA is friends with Kendrick Lamar. He explained that since it was his song, he simply put out the verse sent to him by Tory Lanez, emphasizing that he wasn’t responsible for the content of the verse.
DDG further elaborated on his viewpoint, saying, “If a n-gga sent you a verse and you put it out, what that mean? I just put it out. My verse was old.” His response highlighted his position that artists often collaborate without fully controlling the message or content within the lyrics they receive.
Meanwhile, DDG has also been in the headlines for personal reasons. He recently opened up about his relationship with Halle Bailey following their split. Despite the breakup, DDG revealed in a YouTube video that he still hopes to have more children with Halle. “I do want to have another kid,” he said, adding that he wouldn’t want to have another child with anyone else. He further clarified his relationship status, asserting, “No, I’m not dating. I haven’t ‘moved on,’ whatever that means in y’all’s sense. I’m just really focused on work.”
The drama surrounding DDG’s recent collaborations and personal life continues to make waves, but the rapper is standing firm in his responses, addressing both the industry and his private matters with openness.
