50 Cent Confirms New Music Without an Album
50 Cent, the legendary G-Unit rapper and entrepreneur, has revealed that he is working on new music but not with plans for a full album. In a candid conversation with Cam’ron on his YouTube series Talk with Flee, 50 Cent stated, “I’ma make some new music,” but clarified that this wouldn’t lead to a traditional album release. Instead, the tracks will be integrated into his various film and television projects.
A Decade Without an Album
Fans have eagerly awaited a follow-up to Animal Ambition, 50’s last album released in 2014. Since then, the rapper has shifted his focus to his thriving ventures in entertainment, including his hit TV series Power and BMF. Over the years, he has released singles like “Power Powder Respect” with Lil Durk and Jeremih and “Wish Me Luck,” featuring Snoop Dogg, Moneybagg Yo, and Charlie Wilson, to promote these projects.
A Historic Collaboration
Although a new album isn’t in the works, 50 Cent fans won’t have to wait long for new music. He is set to feature on Snoop Dogg’s upcoming album Missionary, dropping on December 13, 2024. Produced entirely by Dr. Dre, the project includes the track “Gunz N Smoke,” which marks the first-ever collaboration between Snoop, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and Eminem as a group.
Changing Directions
50’s comments may surprise fans, given his previous hints about a new album. In early 2023, he announced plans to hit the studio with Eminem and Dr. Dre, even teasing that Dre had “crazy stuff” lined up for him. “I’ll go make something… and when I feel real good about it, I bring it to put pressure on Dre,” 50 said, describing his creative process.
Eminem, for his part, has expressed his desire for another 50 Cent album. In an interview with DJ Whoo Kid earlier this year, Em said, “I’m trying to get him to make a new album so bad… 50’s on a roll right now. An album with me and him would be crazy.”
A Multifaceted Mogul
50 Cent’s evolution from rap superstar to entertainment mogul has redefined his career. While fans may not get a full album soon, his ability to weave music into his multimedia projects keeps his artistry alive. Whether through television soundtracks or blockbuster collaborations, 50 Cent proves he remains a force in the industry.
With Missionary set to showcase a groundbreaking team-up, it’s clear that 50 Cent’s music journey is far from over—even if it takes unexpected twists.
